Canada: No Time For Pesky So-Cons

National Post:

"Instead of worrying about money all the time, we would worry about our ethical thinking: abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, the poor, the mentally ill,' said Ms. Jullion, a mother of two and part-time bookkeeper from the Northern Alberta farming community of Barrhead. 'I was hoping that at least we would begin talking about these social issues.'

'Social conservatives feel left out in our own nation,' (Corry Morcos) said. 'We are continually being told to shut up. We're being told by the Human Rights Tribunal and by our government. They don't want us to say what we believe.'...

...(Jill Cahoon) put more stock in her family than in political parties and thinks that by teaching her children the right way to live that eventually Canada will turn around.

'My husband and I have eight children ... I can raise my family to respect life. To respect family values. To encourage them to have good sound marriages and stay with their marriages and work out problems when they arise. That will be an influence in society. If we stick to our views it will have an influence down the road. In politics I'm not sure we'll ever get what we want.'"

That's right! My parents have 33 grandchildren and a great-grandchild - so far (I still have some unattached siblings!) More than half are homeschooled. Do we care about life issues? You bet. And the youngsters are out there spreading the message on campus and at work.

(Funny thing about those pro-lifers....THEY HAVE KIDS!!)
