"The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion, because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between."

VOTE FOR LIFE, (or be 'out' of Communion)

Its clear to Rome, but is anyone listening?

John Henry-Westen and Hilary White at Lifesite News report on the Vatican's position regarding politicians who support abortion:

"...(Cardinal) Arinze said that he is regularly asked if a person who votes for abortion can receive Holy Communion. He replies, "Do you really need a cardinal from the Vatican to answer that?
"Get the children for first Communion and say to them, 'Somebody votes for the killing of unborn babies, and says, I voted for that, I will vote for that every time.' And these babies are killed not one or two, but in millions, and that person says, 'I'm a practising Catholic', should that person receive Communion next Sunday? The children will answer that at the drop of a hat. You don't need a cardinal to answer that..."

UN Human Rights Council

Here's an article from 'The Jerusalem Post' on the latest oppressive move by the UN Human RIghts Council :

WAKE UP CAYMAN.

If we think we can trust thsee guys to protect our way of life....we're wrong. They don't LIKE 'our' way of life! We are inviting buckets of grief on ourselves by embedding a Bill of Human Rights in our 'modernized' constitution. We have laws already. We have responsibilities already. We should not be giving outsiders a venue to pursue repression of free speech and practice of religion in Cayman.

I don't care what the Queen's representative's are assuring us, they are not being candid. They have their own reasons for 'mandating' this. It has nothing at all to do with our own welfare. (And don't tell me the UN and the EU and British motivations are not related.)

We only have to look at Europe, Great Britain, Canada... to see where we are so naively headed.

It Ain't Good.

A Curt Review of LA Diocese

Jeff Miller of 'the Curt Jester' posts on the TOP TEN reasons for the LA diocese' choice of 'Pope Welcome Video' themes:
"...A video of the beauty of the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angel. (Video would be way too short) .."

TRIBUTE

A tribute to Martin Luther King, very nicely done at: http://proecclesia.blogspot.com/.

In a related story, considering King's firm stand for LIFE (as opposed to OBAMA's inhuman stand for DEATH at all stages), Tim Drake of 'NCR' posts on politicians concerns about the Pope's visit:

"...Some commentators have voiced the opinion that there are no "perfect" political candidates. Others have weighed in why their particular candidate is more aligned with Church teachings. To do so is to miss the higher reason for the Pope's visit. He does not come as a politician. He comes as the leader of the Catholic Church, with a message to give to the Church and to the U.S. about our higher calling. He comes to call us back to Jesus Christ and to the ideals upon which this country was founded..."http://pope2008.typepad.com/weblog/2008/04/an-article-at-a.html

TONY BLAIR's CONVERSION 'STORY'

Commentary on Tony Blair's 'confession' at Westminster Cathedral last night:

'Blair's simple apologia expressed in these words does not demonstrate that he has renounced his part within the culture of death in favour of Christ:

".. There is nothing I look back on now and say that as a result of my religious journey I would have done things very differently but that is expressly not to say that I got everything right.."

If Faith is here being manipulated skilfully by an architect of the culture of death, to make it appear as something which we can fashion for our own ends, then there will be more darkness. Faith is a grace from God which enables a person to embrace a relationship with Christ, a relationship which coverts, heals and saves. Our appreciation of the Gate to the Sheepfold can never be overstated - in fact, here lies the heart of the renewal of life and culture.'

Human Rights Commissions IN THE NEWS

Ezra Levant does a round-up of HRC's in the news, and comments on their lack of self-awareness:http://ezralevant.com/2008/04/human-rights-commissions-in-th.html

"...It seems as though the HRCs, coast-to-coast, are starting some sort of PR campaign to fight back against the tidal wave of criticism that has washed over them lately. As far as I'm concerned, the more they speak out, the better. They've inhabited such a strange world -- a world with no diversity of opinion, a world that tolerates no dissent, a world of intellectual mush and sycophantic hangers-on who mutually reinforce their pre-existing biases and eccentricities -- that when they emerge to engage the public, they sound like kooks, divorced from reality..."

CHOOSE ME

(Mudassir A. Khan )

My rotting body in my grave, proves
Rigor mortis of your spirit!
I want to claim that it is dark in here, but,
I do not remember the light to compare it with.
I watched and helplessly pled silently,
Wondering how is it that people,
Get away with murder all the time!

I wish you were here to brush these worms.
And wipe the mud from my soiled face
Caused by the dripped rain in here.
Tell me for what crime was I punished?
Why such harsh sentence on me?
You are obsessed with things that deny reason!
Why did you choose to kill me?

Instead of pushing a baby carriage,
You’d rather adventure walking your favorite dog!!
My decomposing brain has the right to ask:
‘Why was I not allowed to be born’?
I wish you were pro-life
And not pro-death!
You could have given me for adoption!

You took away my right to live.
Is your world really better without me?
I wonder if you even gave me a name!
Or am I more null and void
Than the cancelled checks that you do keep!

Richard Branson, Always thinking...!

I realize its late in the day but...

"...Some people are calling Virgle an 'interplanetary Noah's Ark,'" said Virgin Group President and Founder Sir Richard Branson, who conceived the new venture. "I'm one of them. It's a potentially remarkable business, but more than that, it's a glorious adventure. For me, Virgle evokes the spirit of explorers such as Christopher Columbus and Marco Polo, who set sail looking for the New World. I do hope we'll be a bit more efficient about actually finding it, though."

I'm pretty sure I'd be an excellent candidate!

CHRC - Rights for 'Special' People

Lorne Gunter's piece today in the "Calgary Herald" on the HRC debacle:

"...All you need to know about how rotten the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) is -- how undemocratic and anti-freedom it has become -- is that in hate-speech complaints, the commission has a 100 per cent conviction rate..."

Also, from Grant Brown at "Western Standard":

"..Given that the physical differences between men and women are obvious to everyone, whereas psychological differences are difficult to prove and hotly contested, this way of placing the onus is puzzling at best. It reveals that what is really behind these decisions is neither principled equality nor principled anti-discrimination, but rather special pleading for the politically correct group..."

Calling Out Condoms

African 'abstinence' advocates tell the 'rubber' to 'hit the road':

By Hilary White DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, March 31, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com)
A project promoting chastity instead of condoms to prevent the spread of AIDS in Tanzania has caught the attention of authorities. Three billboard signs, bearing a photo of a grinning skeleton on a red background with the caption, "Faithful Condom User" in English and Swahili, were erected by an African affiliate of Human Life International (HLI) and local authorities are "going ballistic".The caption is a send-up of the so-called "ABC" slogan commonly applied by the international aid organisations: "Abstain, Be faithful, use Condoms". With the minimum of ten percent failure rate for latex condoms, even when "correctly" used, and the 100 per cent fatality rate of AIDS, many experts have denounced the condom doctrine as a death trap. Nevertheless, critics have called the ABC slogan, devised to appease the critics of condom promotion, disingenuous and racist, saying it implies that the goals of chastity are unrealistic for Africans. HLI says that one large billboard was placed near a main road in the capital city of Dar es Salaam while two smaller versions were put up elsewhere in the city. Fr. Tom Euteneuer writes, "While we presumed that this message and graphic would be controversial, we didn't expect the international condom lobby to go utterly ballistic over it!"Tanzania is one of the countries especially targeted by the international population control movement that has been active in promoting condom use for AIDS prevention. On Tuesday, the main newspaper in Tanzania, The Citizen, ran a story that described the response from "high-profile" international condom-promoting organizations like the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, Family Health International, Population Services International and others as "up in arms" and government officials as "jolted." The paper reports that the chairman of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS was "furious" at the billboards and that members of the Prime Minister's office are holding meetings to discuss an "urgent intervention" to suppress and censor the signs. Fr. Euteneuer said, "When the power structure of an entire country is rallied against us, that's a sure sign that we're right!"Given the response, Human Life International is appealing for funds to expand the project. $24,000 will enable the group to fund billboards in Kenya and Cameroon but Fr. Euteneuer says they want to expand the project to 55 countries in total. For information on how to donate to Human Life International:

APRIL FOOL's

Top Ten Nerdy April Fool's Tricks:

Now Get Busy! (h/t "the Corner")

The Concern Is Real.

It seems to me that the only people seriously looking at the dangers inherent in an embedded ‘bill of human rights’ and its ‘human rights commission’ IS the Cayman Minister’s Assoc. I attended the presentation they gave, hosted by the UDP,( I understand that they have given all their information to the gov’t as well.) It was a very well researched and lucid presentation. It was backed up by a reference of documents and articles with specific cases from the UK and Canada. It was intelligently presented and discussed, and the intention was to bring some awareness of what is truly at stake and to seek a way, within the framework of ‘what is possible’ to protect Cayman, and avoid the social nightmare of our brothers overseas.

It is not a ‘partisan’ concern. It’s a concern about the basic right of Caymanians to express and live their lives according to their own beliefs. Protection of freedom .

Some would have us believe it’s all about imposing belief on others. Not so. It’s about retaining the ability to maintain our own beliefs.

Others would have us believe that there is nothing to BE concerned about. A ‘bill of rights’ is all good. No evil ever could come of it.

Is that the experience of the rest of the world? NO. The U.K. and Canada , for example, are constantly in conflict because of their courts’ ‘interpretations’ of rights. Canada is currently being embarrassed by its HRC’s seeming indifference to rights of those it doesn’t ‘agree’ with, their social activism, and their penchant for politically correct decisions (as opposed to ‘just’ ones).

Society in both countries has undergone extreme societal changes in the last 30 years, and much of it has been engineered through the ‘rights’ movement. And no, it’s not the rights of the poor that the EU and the UN are all ‘het up’ about. They wish to ensure that every member country has adequate ‘reproductive health’ rights(a.k.a. ABORTION) and not surprisingly, this seems to go hand in hand with ‘making’ everyone ‘respect’ homosexuality. Not homosexuals themselves as individuals, but homosexuality itself. We ‘must’ acknowledge that every woman has the right to abort if she chooses, and we 'must' acknowledge homosexuality as a valid lifestyle. This is not scaremongering. One has only to ‘google’ UN activities to read from their own reporting, their activities over the last several years to ensure this.

Currently, in the UK and Canada, a person’s ability to speak his mind, teach his child, preach a sermon, hire his employees, wear his religious symbols in public, protect his child from propaganda supporting ‘alternative’ lifestyles, write a magazine article that contains ‘the potential to offend’ someone, or to know when your minor daughter is arranging an abortion, has been curtailed and sometimes punished. Again, a cursory look at what HRC’s decisions have been, how they conduct business, and HOW THEY LOOK FOR COMPLAINANTS willing to further their social agenda, informs one as to the overall intent of a ‘bill of rights’. Social engineering ?

The actual need of a ‘bill of rights’ in this age is NOT clear. What actual rights are currently withheld? Which ‘rights’are not addressed in legislation already enacted?

It behooves Caymanians to take this seriously. If we don’t the U.K. will continue to take a hard line. There is no compelling reason for all Overseas Territories to ‘fall in line’ with Britain – other than they want us to. It has to do with THEIR international obligations. How about Poland.? Poland doesn’t let it’s membership in the EU and the UN, infringe on the rights of the Polish people to live according to their conscience. In spite of their international responsibilities, Poland has so far managed to protect the freedom of it’s people to live freely . (Having fought so long to acquire it!)

WHAT DO WE WANT. Let’s at least go into this with our eyes open. Let’s at least ask for the best , instead of settling for what ‘seems o.k.’ Compromise is ok for those who don’t believe anything. Nothing lost. Is it o.k. for us? Is Cayman a relativistic society or a rational one? Do we have our own sense of 'right' and 'wrong' or do we require the EU and the UK to impose their 'sense' on us?

Let’s see some stories in the local media that highlight some of the difficulties that have arisen in the UK and Canada. Let’s get some advice from someone who isn’t advocating FOR an embedded ‘bill of rights’. Let’s be intelligent enough to learn from the agony of others. Let’s protect our identity and freedom, at least as well as Poland, and better than the U.K. And please , let’s not become a quagmire of state sponsored and imposed ‘political correctness’ , like Canada!
