...A San Francisco assessor has called for the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco to hand over $15 million in taxes because of an internal restructuring of the archdiocese, a move that some are describing as "retaliation" for the Church's opposition to Proposition 8.

Assessor Phil Ting concluded that the Catholic Church owed the city taxes after the archdiocese was restructured and its property, which is almost all used by parish facilities, was consolidated seven months ago.

"Because we knew the accusations (of unfair treatment) could be out there, we worked to look at every single document so we could totally and completely understand their argument," Ting said. "We looked at all the various exemptions that could have been applied, and we felt that none of them were applicable in this case. That meant it was our determination that this was a taxable event."

Ting claimed that because the restructuring involved "separate legal entities," it was "not just a cosmetic" change and therefore liable to be taxed.

The archdiocese immediately filed legal action and questioned the precedent for Ting's decision.

"San Francisco Recorder Phil Ting has taken a step that is unprecedented in the history of the state of California. He has determined that an internal reorganization of church property, within the family of corporations of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, constitutes a 'sale' and is subject to a property transfer tax," archdiocese spokesman Maurice Healy told the San Francisco Chronicle.

"A tax on transfers of property, all owned by the Catholic Church, within the same family of Archdiocesan corporations, is unprecedented in the history of the state of California and the law is overwhelmingly in our favor on this subject," said Healy.

Many are decrying the move as retaliation for the church's support of California's same-sex "marriage" ban, as pro-homosexual “marriage” San Francisco residents and politicians have made no secret of their ire at the Catholic Church and other religious groups for supporting Proposition 8....

Canada To Honour Serial Killer Morgentaler

Just in time for Canada Day, in a cruel show of depravity,we hear that our illustrious Governor General, Michaelle Jean, will bestow the 'Order of Canada' on the most prolific and notorious murderer in Canadian history.

'Dr.' Henry Morgentaler is to receive Canada's highest civilian honour.

Every Canadian adult knows who he is and what he has done. All know he is personally responsible for thousands of Canadian deaths through abortion, and has been abortion's greatest advocate. He has also reaped the financial awards of being the foremost abortion provider in a country with NO RESTRICTIONS.

Words cannot describe the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, and the near despair I feel for the future of my grandchildren as Canadians. (Near, because they fortunately have a second home in a still-Christian country that does not allow abortions.) When I remember myself as twenty, still enamored with the Nation of my birth, with an idealistic fervor for her history of pioneers and my French-Irish roots, I weep for a lost love. I weep for the love denied my children, who have grown up aware of what Canada has become, girding themselves for the battle to recover her soul. I weep for those who gave their lives for our future, only to have it cannibalized by inhuman ideologues.

Henry Morgentaler is a sorry excuse for a man. He is not human. He is missing something essential - the ability to recognize and appreciate humanity. Apparantly, he is not alone. If we are to believe that the 'Order of Canada' represents a National feeling of honour and respect for the recipient, Canada is full of sorry excuses.(Backed up by 'thought police').

I don't live in Canada anymore, I visit family.I'm a 'cultural exile'. An 'ex-pat'. I can't raise my children in a country that hates children. They deserve better. Luckily for Canada, they're bound to be as prolific as other Canadians aren't. Sooner or later the baby lovers will simply outnumber the zombies.
Then we'll all move home.

Peace At Last

No thanks to the doctors at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.

LifeNews reports that Samuel Golubchuk,at the center of a life advocacy/eugenics court battle, has died :

"Golubchuk was a terminally ill elderly patient who family said subjecting to euthanasia would violate their religious beliefs. But his doctors wanted to refuse life-sustaining treatment.

He suffered from a brain injury he sustained in 2003 but could still understand and communicate. His condition deteriorated after he had a bout of pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension.

Earlier this month, the doctor who wanted to impose his values on Golubchuk by forcing him off respirator and feeding tube resigned rather than continue treatment.

On Monday, doctors Bojan Paunovic and David Easton became the second and third to stop accepting shifts at Grace Hospital's critical care unit.

Family lawyer Neil Kravetsky told the Canadian Press that the Golubchuk family won their battle with hospital staff who wanted to take his life sooner.

'Mr. Golubchuk won,' Kravetsky said. He didn't die because they pulled him off life support. He died when his time had come.'

'No one took him off life support -- God did and that's what they were fighting for,' Kravetsky added."

I'm sure the Canadian Medical Assoc. can find another old/handicapped/brain damaged/sleeping patient in a hospital somewhere to refuse to feed and hydrate, thus establishing their exclusive right to determine the value of a life in their care.

And my friends think I'm wary of doctors out of a need to be obnoxiously 'anti-authority'. I just don't trust people who think they ARE God!

BAD Doctors

Doctors in Winnipeg are refusing to work in effort to force the death by starvation of a handicapped, responsive patient whose family opposes killing him:

"'It appears that the doctors are intentionally pressuring the system into a crisis in order for them to get their way and stop providing treatment for Samuel Golubchuk,' Mr. Schadenberg said.

He further explained: 'The legal system clearly gives the institution the advantage. Grace hospital has hired, at taxpayers' expense, the best legal team in Manitoba to represent their position while the Golubchuk family is left to their own limited resources to protect the values of their father. Clearly the system leans heavily towards supporting the hospital's agenda.'

'It is also too bad that the physicians and Grace Hospital in Winnipeg continue to refuse to respect the orthodox Jewish faith perspective of the Golubchuk family. The circumstances of this case are not common and require a special sensitivity to solve,' Mr. Schadenberg concluded.

Golubchuk's family is continuing to fight for the 84-year-old man's life, arguing that he is not in a vegetative state and that he is only receiving the most basic care of artificial nutrition and hydration. "

Note: These 'doctors' are listed as faculty at the University of Manitoba, so we have a lot to look forward to! Not only is there a shortage of doctors, but they're being taught how to kill off patients that aren't worth the space. Very efficient.

Stupidity and self-importance are the two-heads of the monster called audacity. Here's a woman who is enabled to proclaim with assurance her total, complete, and obvious ignorance:

Jardine is a British intellectual who was appointed this April as chairman of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. Her academic background is in early modern history and she is professor of Renaissance Studies at Queen Mary College at the University of London. Dr. Jardine, who calls herself an 'extremely devout' 'non-sectarian believer' in values and moral judgments, told the Guardian's Sarah Boseley that this teaching is a recent Catholic invention. 'Now that wasn't true in the 19th century - the Catholic church did not believe that then,' she said."


"... Dr. Jardine, whose academic background does not include training in either theology, Church history, bioethics or human embryology, may be surprised to find that she is also opposed by the entirety of the scientific consensus of the field of human embryology.

The idea that an embryo 'becomes' an 'individuated' human being at 14 days was invented by secular bioethicists in the late 1970s in the early days of in vitro fertilisation research. The same bioethicists have, through their testimony, informed and helped craft embryo research legislation around the world. CLC - Canadian Losers Cabal

Pay Your Dues - Support Repression

The repressive nature of the anti-life advocates is astounding. In two related articles, people paying membership fees are being denied the right to support 'life', although their fees are being used to oppose any effort at providing information on 'life' options. Apparantly INFORMATION is contrary to 'choice'!

In case anyone believes that today's student unions are less radically opposed to the freedom of women to SEE ALL THE INFORMATION than in the 'communist' days (remember those Marxists that showed up at our 'funding' rallies?)HELLO!!! - they still have the same guys writing their position papers! And they are still failed activists trying to feel influential. The Canadian Federation of Students (which all university students are obliged to support) passed a motion brought forward by York Univ:
"The successful motion read: 'Be it resolved that member locals [of the CFS] that refuse to allow anti-choice organizations access to their resources and space be supported. And further, be it resolved that a pro-choice organization kit be created that may include materials such as a fact sheet, buttons, contact information for local pro-choice organizations and research on anti-choice organizations and the conservative think-tanks that fund them,'"more...

Maybe these are also the same guys who write the position papers for Unions? Where Union fees are used to repress anything remotely free choice like NOT supporting things that have NOTHING TO DO WITH UNION BUSINESS:

"WHAT, STILL BREATHING?"

Maybe Obama should consider running for Prime Minister in the UK, you know, if this 'Pres. of the US' thing doesn't work out for him. Seems things might be to his liking, fit his philosophy of 'death for all inconveniences'. As an example, rendered by nurse'Kay' from the UK:

'Kay' has been sending letters to the media , in advance of the vote for limiting abortion to 20 wks, in hopes of highlighting how frequently late terminations are acquired for purely selfish reasons. I think that was her point. A better point might be that the baby that survives abortion, struggles to live, and is left callously to die IS IN FACT A LIVING BREATHING CHILD!!!

Now, there's a case Obama could stand behind...letting the child die to spare the convenience of the more important people...like him. (He could probably find a good group of 'Catholic' MP's to support his candidacy...)

"The demands for same-sex marriage flow logically from the moral tenor of our culture, and nothing in that culture arms us to resist them. Above all, having first acceded to the primacy of the individual over any semblance of a group, we are now capitulating to the non-negotiable demands of sexual desire. Nothing, in this climate, could be further from the dominant cultural sensibility than the idea that sexuality per se and pro se offers a woefully impoverished definition or measure of the individual. As our culture has loosened the bonds of sexual repression that allegedly thwarted the development and happiness of individuals, it has increasingly succumbed to the notion that no sexual desire can be denied. They aim to discredit all forms of authority — especially God and nature — that dare to tell people how to lead their lives. In the view of queer activists, desire, like love in Carmen’s “Habenera,” knows no law — nor should any be imposed upon it.

In the current climate, the appeal of their position is not hard to understand, especially since most of those who accept it do not begin to understand its implications. If anything, the defense of same-sex marriage looks like yet another logical step in the gradual increase in freedom for all members of society. And since activists, the courts, and the media overwhelmingly encourage this deception, we may readily understand that many people may come to see same-sex marriage as another blow against outmoded and illegitimate forms of authority — a blow for freedom and equality. Buying into this view, however, they will remain blind to the ways in which they are playing into the hands of vast governmental and economic powers. The freedom for gays and lesbians to marry will decisively contribute to disaggregating all of the remaining social institutions that provide the foundations for any collective resistance against political and economic domination.

Contrary to many prevailing views, marriage is not the seat of oppression but rather the last best ground for resistance against it. In binding men and women into loving relations and shared purposes, marriage acknowledges the reality of sexual difference even as it works to bridge that difference and lay a foundation for a vital and, yes, grown-up social life."

I realize that PEI is the last province to make these changes, but it still irks. One more reason not to rush back to the farm :

"The governing Liberals pushed the bill through first, second and third reading Tuesday, with the full co-operation of the Opposition Conservatives.

That means the bill has cleared the house and will become law within days.

The bill includes clarification of same-sex couples' rights to adopt by changing the Adoption Act. The words "married couple" will be changed to "spouses" to include same-sex and common-law spouses.

The Consent to Treatment and Health Care Directives Act is also being redefined to recognize same-sex and common-law relationships. That law outlines who can make decisions for somebody who is in hospital and unable to make treatment decisions for themselves."

Sometimes I wonder if any of these politicians have 'spouses' or children they care about. I can hardly wait for the 'before and after' analysis in 20 yrs. time. Sad.

Soon PEI will have nothing worthwhile left but the red stains on your swinsuit.

Prolife Obama Supporters - INSANE?

David R. Carlin diagnoses a troubling mental anomaly found in "Catholic' Obama supporters:

"What does puzzle me, however, is that there are intelligent and well-educated Catholics (like those, I presume, serving on Senator Obama's Advisory Council) who say that they agree with the Church on abortion, yet support a pro-abortion candidate (Senator Obama) for president. How can a sane person who has reached the age of reason believe on the one hand that abortion is unwarranted homicide, yet on the other support a presidential candidate who makes no secret of the fact that he wants to protect and even extend this homicide "right"? Unless you are a moral monster, you can't possibly hold these two things at once, for they contradict one another. It is psychologically impossible both to agree with the Catholic teaching on abortion and to support a pro-abortion candidate for president."

Halifax Herald Fake Report(er) 'Misrepresents'

Halifax Chronicle Herald reporter Monique Muise 'reported' on the Halifax March for Life, but managed to mangle the story in what seems a biased attempt to provide some abortion advocacy on the newspapers dime.

Muise used inconsistent 'labeling' calling the 'March-for-Life' group 'anti-abortion', and the interlopers 'pro-choice' which clearly showed her bias. This was the least offensive error in her article. She seemingly did not know that the 'March-for-Life' had obtained all the city permits and permission required to hold a planned demonstration, unlike the group led by Muise's friend Susan LeFort. Muise persisted in portraying the legitimate demonstrators as the aggressive interlopers. The opposite was true. She mentions 'fence and lampost' climbing, but gives credit to the wrong group She claims that police were 'drawn' to the scene, implying that the gathering was unsanctioned. The 'chaos' providers were clearly the 30 rabble rousers led by Muise's friend Lefort.

Either Muise was misinformed and unable to check her information (ineptitude) or she was lying.

This in a city with a school of journalism!
