Where Are The Christians in Britain ?

Apparantly they are being baited by PC agents in 'charity' organizations, to answer questions about their beliefs, so they can be chastised for being 'uncharitable' in their beliefs!

Christian Legal Centre:
An employee at a Christian ‘homeless’ charity, whose Patron is the Archbishop of Canterbury, has been suspended for answering questions about his faith to a colleague at work.

David Booker, aged 44, a Christian from Southampton, has worked for the English Churches Housing Group for almost four years .On 26 March, whilst working an evening shift, he had a 35 minute conversation with a female colleague. The colleague asked him about his faith and beliefs. During the conversation he was asked the Church’s teaching on homosexuality and same-sex marriages, which Mr Booker explained. The conversation was free-flowing and Mr Booker clearly explained that he had homosexual friends and that he was not homophobic.

The following day he was summoned by his employers and told that he was suspended for “events that happened last night”. On March 30, he was given a formal suspension notice alleging that: “ On 26 March 09, whilst on shift with a female colleague, you seriously breached ECHG’s (English churches House group) Code of conduct by promoting your religious views which contained discriminatory comments regarding a person’s sexual orientation.”...

Did the Archbishop not know the terms of the agency's 'code of conduct'? Who set up the PC sting? Will the Archbishop continue to be the patron of a 'charity' that seeks to punish Anglicans that are knowledgeable and honest about their own faith?

Next, the government will step in with its own 'chastisements'. Its not for nothing that they failed to pass a 'freedom of speech' amendment to the 'Coroners and Justice Bill'.

Oh Britannia!!

Off The Cliff

It will be a quick and disasterous decline.

Albert Mohler:

...Speaking to a conference sponsored by the Oxford International Biomedical Centre, Professor Gardner was ostensibly speaking as an expert on stem cell research. Indeed the conference, "New Body Parts for Old: Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine," was itself ostensibly about embryonic stem cell research. Unexpectedly, Professor Gardner pushed the discussion to the next level.

Gardner's proposal is to use kidney and liver tissues obtained from aborted fetuses in order to treat organ failure in patients. Indeed, Professor Gardner's suggestion went further. He argued that fetal organs could be transplanted into adults. Experiments in mice, he said, indicate that these organs "grow extremely quickly."

This is about as scary as the news can get. Here we confront a serious proposal to use aborted fetuses as factories for spare organs and tissues. Having commodified the human embryo and then allowing its destruction in the name of medical progress, the fetus is next in line.

Professor Stuart Campbell affirmed Gardner's proposal, adding that, if fetuses are going to be aborted, "it is a shame to waste their organs."

In other words, it is just fine to waste their lives and destroy their human dignity, but it is not fine to "waste their organs."...

Hardly seems different from the use of human embryos. Next week maybe we could use premature babies with little chance of survival. The current rate of abortion is supplying more premature babies every day, and they are sooo expensive. A public health care system cannot support futile medical care. Let's make best use of our resources...

Bishop Of Lancaster Speaks Out

Telegraph UK:
The Rt Rev Patrick O'Donoghue, the Bishop of Lancaster, has claimed that graduates are spreading scepticism and sowing dissent. Instead of following the Church's teaching they are "hedonistic", "selfish" and "egocentric", he said.

In particular, the bishop complained that influential Catholics in politics and the media were undermining the Church.

While not naming names, he suggested that such people had been compromised by their education, which he said had a "dark side, due to original sin".

Prominent Catholics in public life include Mark Thompson, the BBC's director general, and Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister.

Bishop O'Donoghue, who has recently published a report on how to renew Catholicism in Britain, argued that mass education has led to "sickness in the Church and wider society".

"What we have witnessed in Western societies since the end of the Second World War is the development of mass education on a scale unprecedented in human history - resulting in economic growth, scientific and technological advances, and the cultural and social enrichment of billions of people's lives," he said.

"However, every human endeavor has a dark side, due to original sin and concupiscence. In the case of education, we can see its distortion through the widespread dissemination of radical scepticism, positivism, utilitarianism and relativism.

"Taken together, these intellectual trends have resulted in a fragmented society that marginalizes God, with many people mistakenly thinking they can live happy and productive lives without him.

"It shouldn't surprise us that the shadows cast by the distortion of education, and corresponding societal changes, have also touched members of the Church. As Pope Benedict XVI puts it, even in the Church we find hedonism, selfishness and egocentric behavior."

The bishop said that Catholic graduates had rejected the reforms made in the second council of the Vatican, which introduced fundamental changes in issues such as liturgy and doctrine.

"The Second Vatican Council tends to be misinterpreted most by Catholics who have had a university education -- that is, by those most exposed to the intellectual and moral spirit of the age," he said. "These well-educated Catholics have gone on to occupy influential positions in education, the media, politics, and even the Church, where they have been able to spread their so-called loyal dissent, causing confusion and discord in the whole church."

Mr Thompson, who went to Oxford University, has this month been embroiled in a row over broadcasting standards in the wake of the scandal over offensive telephone messages left by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. Under his command the BBC broadcast Jerry Springer The Opera, considered blasphemous by many Christians, and was forced to pull a cartoon called Popetown set in a fictional Vatican over concerns it would cause offence.

Mr Blair, also Oxford-educated, became a Catholic last year but has received Mass for years. As Prime Minister he oversaw the introduction of laws on gay rights and abortion which the Catholic church opposed.

The bishop said that influential Catholics had set a bad example and corrupted the faith of those who had not gone to university.

"This failure of leadership has exacerbated the even-greater problem of the mass departure from the Church of the working-class and poor," he said. "For example, the relentless diatribe in the popular media against Christianity has undermined the confidence of the ordinary faithful in the Church."

Although the influx of immigrants from Catholic countries in Eastern Europe has buoyed Mass attendance in recent years, there has been a significant decline in the number of indigenous, working-class Catholics.

Attendance at Mass in 1991 was recorded as 1.3 million, representing a drop of 40 per cent since 1963, but it fell further to 960,000 in 2004. The number of priests in England and Wales has slumped by nearly a quarter in 20 years, from 4,545 in 1985 to 3,643 in 2005.

Bishop O'Donoghue has produced a report, Fit for Mission? Church, examining the current problems facing the Church and designed "to enable Catholic men, women and children to resist the pressures to compromise, even abandon, the truths of the Catholic faith".

He says that he supports Catholics receiving a university education, but urges they should be "better-equipped to challenge the erroneous thinking of their contemporaries".

Nicholas Lash, the former Norris-Hulse Professor of Divinity at Cambridge University, called the bishop's comments "extremely grave".

Writing in this week's Tablet - a respected Catholic journal - Prof Lash says: "If he had named a particular university or universities, or particular individuals, he might well have had a series of libel actions on his hands.

"Quite what constructive purpose could possibly be served by such irresponsible and wholesale scapegoating of the educated, I have simply no idea."

Well, I think they went a bit far calling the "Tablet" a respected 'Catholic' journal. Its not particularly respected or Catholic, only somewhat respected by nominal Catholics.

Nominal Catholics . That's the problem. And the problem does come from their mis-education and obtuse refusal to accept Truth and Authority. I don't think it can be all laid at the feet of higher education. Surely the Catholic schools, seminaries, priests and Bishops played a role ? I think this could maybe be categorized as 'reaping what you sow'... (The Bishop of Lancaster is a fresh breeze of Orthodoxy !)

In an interview as Cardinal Ratzinger, the Pope answered the declining numbers of faithful (FAITHFUL) by accepting that the Church may have some suffering ahead, and speculating that the remnant would be FAITHFUL. He wasn't worried about smaller numbers- he had hopes that the youth would be FAITHFUL, joyful Catholics. (He also defined FAITHFUL.)

I think something that the American elections has accomplished for the Catholic Church, is that it has affected a sort of separating of the 'wheat' from the 'chaff'. Here's praying that I end up in the right pile!

God Help Cayman

And save us from our British Overlords. Please don't let them force their society down our throats (so to speak).

Fresh from the country that now allows parents to 'create' children for the expressed purpose of 'harvesting' cells , is comtemplating mandatory organ donation, forcing Catholic orphanages to close down to avoid giving children to homosexual couples, fines and chastizes an Anglican Bishop for preaching God's word with compassion, has legalized experimentation and development of human hybrids ....
UK government officials announced yesterday that by the year 2010, 5-year-old children will enter the first stages of a comprehensive, explicit sex education program, mandatory for schools nationwide, including faith schools.

The compulsory Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) program will begin in kindergarten where Schools Minister Jim Knight says children will learn about "their differences, their friendships, and how to manage their feelings." Knight insisted that the earliest curriculum will not be "sexually explicit," saying "we are not talking about five-year olds having sex."

The earliest stage of the program, for ages five through seven, will focus on relationships but also include lessons on body part names and animal reproduction. In the 8 to 11 age bracket, more biological aspects of sex are to be introduced, and after age 12, children will learn about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases.

The program was designed to combat the teen pregnancy rate in the UK, currently the highest in Europe. A 2005 survey estimated that one in five British girls have sex by the age of 14. Sex education lobbyists, like the Sex Education Forum, blamed the problem on inadequate sex education, and have called upon the government to institute mandatory "sex and relationships education" for years...

“When parents fail to educate their kids properly, the government has every right to step in,” said Gayla Coil, a Londoner and mother to two kids ages 13 and 10. “Me, I welcome the help.”

But Norman Wells, director of Family and Youth Concern, insisted that undermining the authority and primary teaching role of parents can only exacerbate the problem.

"You're removing discretion from schools. You're undermining parents," he said, according to ABC Australia.

"And effectively what you're doing is taking parents out of the driving seat and putting the state in their place."

Proponents of the new program argue that teaching the biology of sex at a young age will prevent children from falling victim to the “playground rumor or the mixed messages from the media about sex," in the words of Jim Knight.

"Talking about body parts is often easier for children when they are younger as they are less self-conscious and less sensitive about their bodies," said Julie Bentley, chief executive of the FPA, formerly the Family Planning Association, in a BBC article.

Wells answers that such efforts to tear aside the veil are "all part of an exercise to break down children's inhibitions and natural sense of modesty.

"Most parents would be very concerned if they knew that their children were being given literature at school produced by an organisation that doesn't put sexual intimacy in a clear moral context and that fails to respect the role of parents."

Although statistics for teenage pregnancies and abortions have risen in proportion to the increase in 'sex ed' the gov't is determined to continue along the road to societal ruin.

Godless people with no morals wreaking havoc in Great Britain. Look for the backlash in the next election. Have they been in power long enough to guarantee themselves a docile , supportive population? We'll see.

Brave New World via London

British MP's voted to pass the already infamous Human Fertilization and Embryology Bill, launching themselves into a Brave New World. Not only will the new bill allow human/animal hybrid embryos to be developed, but also allows parents to deliberately develop 'savior siblings'.

Because the gov't limited debate to just two hours, some amendments that would have increased access to abortion, including allowing it in Northern Ireland, were not debated.

Brown's gov't, reputedly extremely unpopular and likely to end the Labour Party's hold, seems determined to pass as many unnatural and morally depraved laws as it can in advance of losing power. One can only feel sorry for the British population, who in the name of 'science' have now been given the status of 'guniea pigs'. The new 'security' proposals, including a requirement to register 'data' when purchasing a cell-phone, will enable the gov't to 'track' more efficiently their new 'menagerie'.

How much divides the gov't of Britain today from the gov't of Germany in 1933?

Brown's Gov't Sneaks In Another Disgusting Proposal

Telegraph:

..On Wednesday MPs will vote on a bill which would allow the creation of human/animal hybrid embryos to be used for stem cell research, change the conditions for granting IVF, and possibly liberalise the abortion laws.

The passage through Parliament of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill has been dogged by controversy. Failed attempts to outlaw late abortion have dominated the debate, while scientists, medical ethics experts and religious leaders have clashed over the hybrid embryo issue.

Defenders of the bill have repeatedly stressed the importance of gaining consent from anyone whose tissue is taken for the creation of human/animal hybrid embryos.

It can now be revealed that a Government amendment, agreed after the main parliamentary debates, would allow tissue to be used from people who lack the "mental capacity" to give consent, children whose parents give permission, and anyone who has previously donated samples to hospitals for medical research but can no longer be traced...

Pray For This bill's DEFEAT! Only God Can Save The Brits From Themselves!!

UK Deputy Pushing Abortion

Daily Mail:
A rift has opened up between Gordon Brown and Harriet Harman over plans to relax abortion laws.

...The Premier halted moves by the deputy Labour leader to allow time next week for a range of pro-abortion measures to be pushed through under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.

Mr Brown over-ruled her by allocating no more than three hours for abortion to be debated when the Bill reaches its Report Stage on Wednesday.

Gordon Brown and Harriet Harman have clashed over plans to relax abortion laws

A source close to the Government said: 'There have been arguments at the most senior levels of the Labour Party.

'Harriet Harman has been reassuring pro-abortion activists that the amendments would be slipped into the Bill at the very last stage.

'But this can't be done in the timetable that the Government has provided. It must be sticking in her craw.'..

I suppose Brown's real concern is that by allowing Harman's abortion issues to be added to the embryology bill, he would be putting the whole bill at risk. He's certainly not concerned about the morality of abortion or embryology (or same sex marriage, or gay adoption, or preemptive deaths of organ donors etc.etc...)

TWO HEADED MONSTERS

Stupidity and self-importance are the two-heads of the monster called audacity. Here's a woman who is enabled to proclaim with assurance her total, complete, and obvious ignorance:

"Jardine says she is 'not a whit dismayed' by the ethical problems presented by the HFE Bill's provisions to create human/animal hybrid clones or to use embryonic human beings for medical research. In fact, she says she enjoys the life and death implications of her new position.

Jardine is a British intellectual who was appointed this April as chairman of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. Her academic background is in early modern history and she is professor of Renaissance Studies at Queen Mary College at the University of London. Dr. Jardine, who calls herself an 'extremely devout' 'non-sectarian believer' in values and moral judgments, told the Guardian's Sarah Boseley that this teaching is a recent Catholic invention. 'Now that wasn't true in the 19th century - the Catholic church did not believe that then,' she said."

"... Dr. Jardine, whose academic background does not include training in either theology, Church history, bioethics or human embryology, may be surprised to find that she is also opposed by the entirety of the scientific consensus of the field of human embryology.

The idea that an embryo 'becomes' an 'individuated' human being at 14 days was invented by secular bioethicists in the late 1970s in the early days of in vitro fertilisation research. The same bioethicists have, through their testimony, informed and helped craft embryo research legislation around the world. Human embryologists, however, have only rarely been asked to give testimony before governments who seek to legalise or regulate embryo research." (LifesiteNews)

Obviously hand-picked for her ... unique qualifications.

Scottish Self-Hatred

There isn't really a better way to explain this :

"Officials in Scotland have unveiled a plan to cut the waiting time for women having abortions while news reports from just months ago show British maternity wards are turning away women because they're full. While women seeking to have a baby may not get help, the government is pushing abortions forward."

Obama For PM (UK)

"WHAT, STILL BREATHING?"

Maybe Obama should consider running for Prime Minister in the UK, you know, if this 'Pres. of the US' thing doesn't work out for him. Seems things might be to his liking, fit his philosophy of 'death for all inconveniences'. As an example, rendered by nurse'Kay' from the UK:

" a description of how at 24 weeks the child is often strong enough to be alive – and then must be left to die on the side of an NHS sink until breathing his, or her, last"

'Kay' has been sending letters to the media , in advance of the vote for limiting abortion to 20 wks, in hopes of highlighting how frequently late terminations are acquired for purely selfish reasons. I think that was her point. A better point might be that the baby that survives abortion, struggles to live, and is left callously to die IS IN FACT A LIVING BREATHING CHILD!!!

Now, there's a case Obama could stand behind...letting the child die to spare the convenience of the more important people...like him. (He could probably find a good group of 'Catholic' MP's to support his candidacy...)

In A Nutshell

Tom Piatek's article in 'Taki Magazine' puts the British hybrid ambitions in perspective:

"Things have certainly changed since Britain went to war against Hitler because of the fear of what Nazism would do by “the lights of perverted science."

Is England Worse? (Than Canada?)

Is it possible that the English could be even more oblivious to the rapid erosion of 'freedom of speech' and 'freedom of association' than are the Canadian sheeples?

(Daily Mail) "More than 10 million people are to have their everyday disputes, their politics and their business lives checked by new "tension monitoring" committees.

The committees are to be set up to try to cut the risk of riots or disturbances in the aftermath of terrorist outrages or outbreaks of local racial trouble.

They will ask for and file reports on named troublemakers whose political activities are considered to be raising community tensions.

Reports on the behaviour and attitudes of local residents will be collected by community workers, neighbourhood wardens, local councillors and provided by voluntary organisations, according to a paper published by Communities Secretary Hazel Blears today." (Was that 'communities' or 'communist'?)

Is it that the people don't care, or that they have resigned themselves to the inevitable downward spiral of repression and oppression by bureaucrats with totally self-serving secular humanist 'values'. (Of course , the 'bureaucrati' wouldn't identify themselves as secular humanist etc... That would require some kind of recognition of a personal philosophy, and I don't think philosophy is rated very highly by this lot!) There seems to be no self-awareness at all. No conciousness of the dissonance between their proposals and their proclaimed 'progressiveness'.

Hypocrites or idiots?

Forgive me for taking all these things personally. Cayman, as an 'Overseas Territoty' of Britain, will ultimately suffer from all their disregard for democracy and freedom. Our only hope is that their mistakes become so obvious that even the laid-back Caymanians will rise up against PC dominators, and protect their right to be an 'island of respite' in a sea of tyrannical rights advocates and 'correctness' police.

Rant Over.(h/t 'Dispel')

Thorn in Brown's Side

"The Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, has called for a free vote "because Catholics and others will want to vote according to their consciences", while Scotland's Cardinal Keith O'Brien has described plans to allow the creation of part-human, part-animal embryos as "monstrous".
"It is difficult to imagine a single piece of legislation which more comprehensively attacks the sanctity and dignity of human life than this particular Bill," he said."

UNREAL - Baroness Meacher (the undead)

('Bethlehem ' children or Baroness Meacher....who is human?)

A story from LifeSite News really made my stomach turn. We are so close to being exactly where the German 'scientists' were during WWll.

I can't express how much I was repulsed by this 'woman'. To count her as human is an effort. A human being can recognize humanity, surely!

Baroness Meacher's problem is this - she quite simply IS NOT human! Her reaction is that of someone who has repressed her humanity to the point where it has disappeared! Vanished!

I have just returned from a visit to the Missionaries of the Poor in Jamaica. I spent some time with the children in their orphanage nursery 'Bethlehem'. All of these children were severely handicapped, several with hydrocephalus. My reaction was not the same as the Baroness'!

They seemed to me to be the perfect living proof of the absolute crime and travesty of abortion! As I fed and changed them, tried to communicate and share a presence with them, I realized that the presence we shared was that of Christ. I could see the joy of Christ's Passion in each of these children. The life-giving acceptance of suffering . Ms. Meachem did not recognize the benefit of these children livng a life of suffering. The benefit is hers! They are participating in the redemption of the world, to her benefit, and she would kill them outright!

They also afford us the rare opportunity to love without expectation. This is very important to our humanity. The more we are able to love AND ACCEPT LOVE - the more fully human, the more in the image of our Creator- we become. The children are givers and takers of love. They are human.

The Baroness does not believe in her own humanity, and therefore cannot recognize the children's. She has abandoned her soul. She is not human.

LEADING THE WAY TO TOTAL DEPRAVITY

Hurrah! for those wonderful MPs in Britain! Now we can look forward to human/non-human hybrids, or as the linked article calls them- a new species of slaves. Slaves born to be used , and for no other reason. Owned by their 'creators'. Sound like science fiction?

( This is what comes of a couple of generations of really bad education, where none of the 'cautionary tales' of literature see the light of day, and only gov't propaganda supporting the current method of controlling the population 'think' is taught.)

http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2008/jan/08011708.html

How much worse can it get? I used to think I wouldn't live long enough to see it get as bad as it has. Now I'm anxious for the final show down to occur, so I don't have to witness what I can't imagine. I have no confidence in MAN'S ability to avoid disaster. Its all up to God. We better get on our knees!
