President of Change

Can Obama change the future of 1400 pre-born African Americans a day? Or will Barack Obama be known as the President of the 'black genocide'?

LifeSiteNews:

The most well received speech at the March for Life this year was that of an African American pastor from Frederick Maryland. Pastor Luke Robinson began noting that the election of the first African American President of the United States was a fulfillment of “part” of the “Dream” of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr.

Speaking of the inauguration of the “first black President” of the United States, Pastor Robinson explained: “So many African Americans and other folks cried and shouted because the inauguration was part of the deferred dream come true.” But, he added, “we come here to deal with some unfinished business as it relates to the ‘dream’.”

Then, using Barack Obama’s own rhetoric, Pastor Robinson used the phrase “We need change now more than ever” which would accentuate the rest of his talk.

“We are calling on the President of Change, President Barack Obama,” he said, “to be an agent of change as it relates to the lives of over one million children who will be slaughtered in this, his first year as President, by a horrible practice called abortion and ‘a woman’s right to choose’.”

The most striking portion of Robinson’s speech came as he begged Obama not to preside over the genocide of African Americans. “We need change Mr. President because every day about 4000 babies die by abortion. Every day Mr. President, people with your ethnic background any my ethnic background die in astounding numbers. Abortion is the number one killer of African Americans in this country.”

“We make up about 12% of the population and about 34% of all abortions are black babies. In the last 36 years over 17 million African American babies have died by abortion alone. We need to change this picture. We need to stop this slaughter of the innocent preborn.

“Please Mr. President, be that agent of change that can commute the sentence of over 1400 African American children and over 3000 children from other ethnic groups sentenced to die every day in this country by abortion.”

“We need change and we need it now.”

“I pray with so many others,” he said, “that your administration will preside over the end to abortion and to the black genocide in America.”

“At the conclusion of your term in office, may it never be said that you presided over the largest slaughter of innocent children in the history of the country and that African Americans became an ever increasing minority under your hand.”

Quote Of The Day- Mother Theresa

“America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father’s role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts – a child – as a competitor, and intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands and other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign.” MOTHER THERESA

Cause And Effect?

Two stories from Britain caught my eye . Anyone else think there's a connection?

"British Muslims Want To Remain Segregated":

...A shocking 44 percent of Muslims in Britain have said that they would like to be segregated from the rest of society, and be free to develop along separate lines...

"Teach Pleasure Of Gay Sex To 5 Yr. Olds":

...Children as young as five should be taught to understand the pleasures of gay sex, according to leaders of a taxpayer-funded education project.

Heads of the project have set themselves a goal of 'creating primary classrooms where queer sexualities are affirmed and celebrated'...

I don't suppose the dramatic rise in the number of homeschoolers in Britain,( now estimated to be over 100,000) is at all related ....

"Traffic Stopping Display"

Capital Resource Institute:

To commemorate National Sanctity of Life Week, more than 60 volunteers from across Northern California gathered along Interstate 80 on Saturday, Jan. 17, to plant 3,000 white crosses -- each representing an abortion.

The purpose of the Vacaville display was to draw attention to the number of abortions performed every day. The sobering exhibit alongside the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 was so effective that it actually stopped traffic. Before the pro-life activists had finished setting up the display, the California Highway Patrol dispatched an aircraft to request via a loudspeaker that the activists stop their set-up long enough for traffic to disperse.

"We expected people to notice the crosses but we were surprised that it backed up traffic," stated participant Diedre Eckle, director of Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center in Vacaville. "It is ironic that a memorial to aborted babies can bring a freeway to a halt, but the actual abortions go unnoticed."

"It's impressive that average citizens were able to draw attention to the horror of abortion in such a peaceful, effective manner," commented Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute. "We commend the Vacaville citizens for the commitment to giving voice the thousands of children killed every day through abortion."

Stem Cell Science - A Study In Media Bias

Joel Johannesen at Proud To Be Canadian writes about the media's warped sense of reality...they're liars:

...The lie perpetrated by the liberal-left and their media regarding stem cell research is being perpetrated in new Obamerific ways today.

They’re all reporting on this new study which, after a year of consideration, the Food and Drug Administration OK’d today, for a scientific study using EMBRYONIC stem cells on humans.

But they’re making out like it’s some sort of an Obama election-induced advance for science. That’s an outright lie. And worse, they know it...

Joel's right. He goes on to delineate the extent of their lying support for embryonic stem cell research:

...The Bush Administration banned federal taxpayer funding (only) for EMBRYONIC (only embryonic) stem cell research, on ethics grounds (it requires the harvesting of stem cells from human baby embryos… hello!). ADULT stem cell research—the only research which has ever led to any medical cures or treatments, and there have been lots —is and always has been funded and of course legal in every way, and in America for the past several years, huge advances using ADULT stem cell research has been made. There are few if any ethical issues surrounding ADULT stem cell research.

Bush also made available a set number of human embryos, from which the stem cell lines harvested could be used for EMBRYONIC stem cell research, and which would be eligible for federal funding; and the private sector could continue, as they always could, to fund research using those lines (the fact that private money was so scarce speaks to the ethical problems associated with it, and the paucity of promise in EMBRYONIC research). And research went on.

No stem cell research was ever “banned” by the Bush administration.

And here’s the kicker: The EMBRYONIC stem cell lines being used in the announced study today are those lines authorized by George Bush, although the study used no federal funding...

MSM .... All Death All the Time (thus their love-in with Obama!)

50 MILLION AMERICANS GONE MISSING - CNN Didn't Notice

If you were expecting some coverage of the March For Life, you were disappointed. Only the internet is alive. Apparantly the so-called mainstream media doesn't think that hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers gathering in Washington the week of the Inauguration of the MOST PRO DEATH PRESIDENT EVER is news worthy...or they just didn't notice. Probably the latter. They were probably boning up on how to ask the new President questions. (I wish they had learned this earlier, but..)

A nice selection of March For Life photos has been posted at The Corner by Mark Hemingway.

You Tube has 27 videos from the March For Life (so far).

Check EWTN for replays of their live coverage.

Worth Fighting For

“For you [God] formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet, there were none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!”

"Dear [President] Obama, You Are Invited..."

March For Life:

The White House

Washington, DC January 15, 2009

Dear Mr. President-Elect,

I am pleased to extend this invitation from the March for Life Fund Board of Directors and from thousands of prolife Americans as we look forward to the memorable occasion of your inauguration. We request that you come to speak to us at the 36th annual March for Life Rally on Thursday, Noon, January 22, 2009 at the Mall and 4th Street NW...

...Mr. Obama, we hear about genocide in far-off lands, and America is asked to help stop that evil. Certainly America wants to help stop all genocide evil – foreign and domestic. Since the illicit Roe v. Wade, America suffers genocide of an estimated 50,000,000 preborn boys and girls. And, since the March for Life Rally last year, an estimated 1,300,000 preborn humans have been intentionally killed out-of-sight – without coverage by media or a celebrity. An abortion killing site is within walking distance of the White House. As President of all the people, please join us prolifers as we March for Life for love of God, of our born and preborn Neighbors, including abortionists, and of our Country.

Sincerely in Life,

Miss Nellie J. Gray, President

Good News - Cameroon Stands Up Against UN Abortion Coercion

By Samantha Singson

NEW YORK, January 15, 2009 (C-FAM)

The committee that monitors state compliance with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) will begin a new session in Geneva next week, but even prior to the meeting six of the eight states who will be reviewed have already been questioned on abortion. In a stinging written response to the CEDAW committee’s advance questions, Cameroon fired back that “abortion is murder.”

CEDAW does not mention abortion, but the committee has courted controversy for years by pressuring over 65 countries to liberalize their abortion laws. In a written communication to the Cameroon government, the CEDAW committee asked the government to account for how they have implemented CEDAW’s previous recommendations to “review the abortion law and increase access to, and availability of, contraception.”

The government of Cameroon provided a lengthy written answer to the question and repudiated the tendency to “elevate” abortion to “the rank of a right and dignity.” Cameroon continued that abortion “is portrayed as a freedom without mentioning that the mother exercises this freedom to the detriment of the child’s.”

The Cameroon response lists the risks associated with abortion, including death, intestinal aspiration, hemorrhaging, infection, sterility, ectopic pregnancy, future miscarriage, perforation of the uterus and distress. Cameroon warned that new ideologies and scientific and technical progress “must not lead to an erosion in basic values.”

Cameroon emphasized the traditional African philosophy that “recognizes the permanent bond that links societies and families to their ancestors” and how children are a “bridge between generations past and present, while representing future prospects for communities.” Therefore, any abortion performed for any reason “other than to save the life of the mother or child, impedes the expression of this vital social dynamic.”

Cameroon also reminded the CEDAW committee of an aspect it feels is overlooked – “the tremendous joy that the possibility of having a child brings to women, as well as to men and families.” Cameroon asks the members of the committee to “Think for a moment of the anguish felt by the many couples who do not have children; think of the thousands of women and men who, in spite of their comfortable material existence, desperately want a child, even if it means adopting just one child.”

While the recommendations of the CEDAW committee are non-binding, abortion activists have brought litigation in various countries citing human rights treaty bodies, like the CEDAW Committee, in challenging laws against abortion. Such arguments helped convince the Colombian constitutional court to liberalize that country’s restrictions on the practice.

CEDAW critics will be watching the next session closely to monitor the performance of several newly elected committee members such as Violet Tsisiga Awori of Kenya and Barbara Evelyn Bailey of Jamaica, who were high-ranking members of non-government organizations that advocated for abortion rights in their respective regions.
Along with Cameroon, the CEDAW Committee will also be reviewing the country reports of Armenia, Dominica, Germany, Guatemala, Haiti, Libya and Rwanda.

WHITEHOUSE GOV. BLOG:

Supports a Woman's Right to Choose: President Obama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Adminstration. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case.

Preventing Unintended Pregnancy: President Obama was an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information, and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.

LifeNews :
...Officials with the incoming administration of Barack Obama have confirmed that he will indeed overturn a pro-life policy of President Bush on his first day in office. Despite campaigning on the rhetoric of wanting to reduce abortions, Obama will make one of his first actions promoting them globally.

Meanwhile, some 77 members of Congress have signed onto a letter asking Obama to back down from doing so.

President Bush used an executive order on his first day in office to reinstitute a pro-life policy that prevents forcing taxpayers to fund international groups that perform or promote abortions in other countries.

While U.S. law prohibits funding abortions directly, Bush's Mexico City Policy expands the law by also prohibiting the funding of pro-abortion groups that either do abortions overseas or lobby pro-life governments to sacrifice their abortion limits.

During the presidential election, pro-life groups issued a clarion call to voters telling them their tax money would be used if Obama were elected and saying he would likely reverse the Mexico City Policy immediately after taking office.

The capital publication Congressional Quarterly reports that top Washington officials tell it that the incoming president will reverse the pro-life measure on his first day as president, on Wednesday.

When Obama overturns the limits on global abortions, he will do so over the objections of dozens of members of Congress.

"As a new administration begins, it is our hope you will work, as you have pledged, to create a new era of bi-partisan cooperation. We urge you to continue the Mexico City Policy, which separates abortion and family planning in America's foreign aid programs," the bipartisan group of lawmakers wrote Obama on Friday...

I guess we'll see how far bio-fuel will take the 'pro-life' democrats!

Bush's Prolife Record

Baptist Press:
...The debate over partial-birth abortion, (Richard)Land says, has been a turning point in the pro-life movement. Polls agree. In September 1995 -- before Congress and Clinton began debating a partial-birth abortion bill -- 56 percent of Americans called themselves pro-choice, 33 percent pro-life, according to a Gallup Poll at the time. In August 1997 -- after Clinton's veto -- 47 percent called themselves pro-choice, 44 percent pro-life. Since then, the percentage of Americans who call themselves pro-life has not dipped below 40 percent in the Gallup Poll.

"I think the debate over banning partial-birth abortion is the Uncle Tom's Cabin of the pro-life movement," Land said. "Uncle Tom's Cabin humanized the plight of the slave. The debate over partial-birth abortion humanized the abortion issue for a significant segment of the American population. It confronted the American public with the humanity of the fetus in the same way that Uncle Tom's Cabin confronted the general public with the humanity of those in human bondage."

Alito and Roberts, Land says, are the "crown jewels" of Bush's "pro-family, pro-life legacy."

"There's no promise he kept more faithfully than his promise to nominate only strict constructionist, original intent jurists to the court, which means pro-life judges," Land said. "... [Alito and Roberts] are young, they are articulate, they are brilliant, and they are going to be stars of this court for 20 years."...

"Obama's No Lincoln"

Star Parker:

On the hardest moral dilemma of his day, Abraham Lincoln stepped up to the plate and took a stand -- unlike Obama, he did not say that it was above his pay grade

It's ironic that Barack Obama chooses to infuse these opening days of his presidency with the imagery of Abraham Lincoln.

I don't think there could be two more different men. Understanding why may help us think about what to expect in the days ahead.

Beyond his trademark "change we can believe in," Obama's defining theme has been unity and inclusiveness. "... There's not a liberal America and a conservative America -- there's the United States of America ... We worship an awesome God in the Blue States ... and have gay friends in the Red States."

Obama, of course, does not suggest that we don't have differences. His point is that those differences are not critically important and they're getting in our way. Let's put differences aside, get practical, and solve our problems.

The inaugural ceremonies have pastors for everyone. A white evangelical that opposes same sex marriage, a white homosexual, a left wing black male and a left wing black female.

His economic stimulus plan has large government expenditures to please Democrats and tax benefits to please Republicans.

Lincoln, too, sought unity. But Lincoln's notion of where national unity would lie was far different from Obama's.

He prophetically stated the challenge after accepting the Republican nomination for the senate in 1858.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure half slave and half free. I do not expect the union to be dissolved. I do not expect the House to fall. But I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other."

As historian Harry Jaffa points out, " For Lincoln, as for Jefferson and for all genuine supporters of the principles of the Declaration of Independence, the distinction between right and wrong is antecedent to any form of government and is independent of any man's or any majority's will."

Lincoln knew that some principles are so fundamental they cannot be compromised. He knew that we couldn't ignore our key differences. Unity could only come from facing them and making the hard choices...

"Imagine The Potential"

Like Incense, Unto Heaven

On Tuesday, January 20, Barack Hussein Obama will become the President of the United States.

As Catholics we have the duty to pray for his leadership to be conformed to the will of God.

Across the US and the rest of the world many ,many parishes will be offering up their Tuseday Mass for this purpose. Each of us can offer up their daily Mass at the time of the Consecration, for the purpose of converting Barack Obama to God's will for him. We can offer up our Masses for Barack Obama's conversion to the 'culture of life'.

If we are unable to attend Mass on Tuesday we can participate in a Spiritual Communion, joining the thousands upon thousands who will be in church. There will be 393 Masses in 50 States, Washington, DC; Vatican City; Rome, Italy; Fatima, Portugal; the Dominican Republic; Australia, Haiti; India; United Kingdom; Kenya; Djibouti; Israel; Ireland: and Canada offered (that we know of)*.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are truly present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen

All of our Masses and prayers unite and ascend like incense unto Heaven.

God Bless America

Why (some) Doctors Don't Like God....

...He makes them look like bad guys!

Herald Sun, Aus.:

A MAN whose family was told he would die without waking has spoken his first words after almost three years in a coma.

"I am better," Ilija Marinovic told his wife, Margaret.

Mrs Marinovic said: "I didn't believe it because all the doctors said it would never happen." ...

And some of them really, really are!

Time to Invoke Saint Francis...

...he really can't be too happy about all this!

LifeSiteNews:
...A San Francisco assessor has called for the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco to hand over $15 million in taxes because of an internal restructuring of the archdiocese, a move that some are describing as "retaliation" for the Church's opposition to Proposition 8.

Assessor Phil Ting concluded that the Catholic Church owed the city taxes after the archdiocese was restructured and its property, which is almost all used by parish facilities, was consolidated seven months ago.

"Because we knew the accusations (of unfair treatment) could be out there, we worked to look at every single document so we could totally and completely understand their argument," Ting said. "We looked at all the various exemptions that could have been applied, and we felt that none of them were applicable in this case. That meant it was our determination that this was a taxable event."

Ting claimed that because the restructuring involved "separate legal entities," it was "not just a cosmetic" change and therefore liable to be taxed.

The archdiocese immediately filed legal action and questioned the precedent for Ting's decision.

"San Francisco Recorder Phil Ting has taken a step that is unprecedented in the history of the state of California. He has determined that an internal reorganization of church property, within the family of corporations of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, constitutes a 'sale' and is subject to a property transfer tax," archdiocese spokesman Maurice Healy told the San Francisco Chronicle.

"A tax on transfers of property, all owned by the Catholic Church, within the same family of Archdiocesan corporations, is unprecedented in the history of the state of California and the law is overwhelmingly in our favor on this subject," said Healy.

Many are decrying the move as retaliation for the church's support of California's same-sex "marriage" ban, as pro-homosexual “marriage” San Francisco residents and politicians have made no secret of their ire at the Catholic Church and other religious groups for supporting Proposition 8....

A Real President For Life

National Sanctity of Human Life Day
, 2009
A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America

All human life is a gift from our Creator that is sacred, unique, and worthy of protection. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our country recognizes that each person, including every person waiting to be born, has a special place and purpose in this world. We also underscore our dedication to heeding this message of conscience by speaking up for the weak and voiceless among us.

The most basic duty of government is to protect the life of the innocent. My Administration has been committed to building a culture of life by vigorously promoting adoption and parental notification laws, opposing Federal funding for abortions overseas, encouraging teen abstinence, and funding crisis pregnancy programs. In 2002, I was honored to sign into law the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which extends legal protection to children who survive an abortion attempt. I signed legislation in 2003 to ban the cruel practice of partial-birth abortion, and that law represents our commitment to building a culture of life in America. Also, I was proud to sign the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004, which allows authorities to charge a person who causes death or injury to a child in the womb with a separate offense in addition to any charges relating to the mother.

America is a caring Nation, and our values should guide us as we harness the gifts of science. In our zeal for new treatments and cures, we must never abandon our fundamental morals. We can achieve the great breakthroughs we all seek with reverence for the gift of life.

The sanctity of life is written in the hearts of all men and women. On this day and throughout the year, we aspire to build a society in which every child is welcome in life and protected in law. We also encourage more of our fellow Americans to join our just and noble cause. History tells us that with a cause rooted in our deepest principles and appealing to the best instincts of our citizens, we will prevail.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim January 18, 2009, as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. I call upon all Americans to recognize this day with appropriate ceremonies and to underscore our commitment to respecting and protecting the life and dignity of every human being.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fifteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

GEORGE W. BUSH

The United States of America has been priviledged to have a hiatus of human reason in the 'culture of life' advocacy of President George Bush. He stood up for a reality that may not even be recognized by the presidency for years to come.

Human life, from conception to natural death, has intrinsic value. To ignore this reality is to destroy our very civilization - much proof of which already exists.
