Make Me Proud, CANADA
I love Canada. Of course! My (rather large) family is there. I think the geography is amazing. I even love the variety of weather! I love our history and (real) culture. It hurts me to know how indifferent Canadians are to the waste of humankind that is perpetuated , with the help of their indifference and their own taxes. 100,000 Canadian babies are murdered in the womb each year. A crime of depravity ignored by just about everybody. Canadians don't care.
I remember being so proud of Canada as a teen finishing highschool. I couldn't wait to get out there and participate more fully in the future of Canada. I was heart broken to find out how narrowminded and selfish the established 'politically correct' dialogue was, how they excluded truth and reality in favour of a self centered imposed secularism.
Reality bites.
I love Canada, but I am not proud of Canada. Yes, some good people manage to ignore the PC regime, teach their children right from wrong, and maintain their humanity inspite of regulated indoctrination through publicly funded school systems and ideologically enslaved media. Yes, sometimes the government manages to take small steps in the right direction - the direction of true liberty - the freedom to love God and each other in a fully human way. Yes, I have moments of hope for Canada.
Today is a moment of hope.
I hope - really, really hope - that Canadians elect MPs who understand how to be fully human.
Who understand that human life is sacred from beginning to end. Who understand that a human family is an important social unit, one organized and defined by God, and that no 'human' fantastical manipulations can redefine it.
Who aren't sucked into the current 'make-believe' social reconstruction and refuse to encourage or finance it.
I hope for Canada, the most prolife, pro-family, God fearing parliament.
I hope this, because I love and pray for Canada and all Canadians.
God Bless Canada

ELECTION THOUGHTS (Canada)
.
IF I could vote (which as a non-resident, I cannot) I would vote for the candidate, not the party. In Canada, for a supporter of the culture of life, what other option is there?
It's not as if , in voting CPC, you guarantee that prolife views will even be heard. They won't be. The PM has taken pains to make that clear.
So since none of the possible winners (overall) are supporters of the 'culture of life', I would vote for the candidate in my riding that has the best understanding of life and family - regardless of party. What difference could it make- how could it be worse?
You may want to factor in economics, and freedom... in which case, I suppose CPC makes more sense marginally - but I would never vote for a CPC candidate who was life-ignorant , over another candidate who was solidly prolife. Never.
If I could vote...

Archbishop Prendergast Cancels D&P Speaker's Tour
LifeSiteNews:
Thank-you Archbishop Prendergast.
Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast has cancelled the speaking engagements of the head of one of Development and Peace’s partners, after personally investigating and finding that the actions of the partner are “incompatible with the Church’s defence of the right to life from conception to natural death.”

"Today is Terri’s Day — the 6th anniversary of the death of Terri Schiavo, who died after nutrition and hydration were cut off, against the wishes of her family.
It’s a day to recall her story, and to pray that all would recognize the value and dignity of all human life.
Today’s devotional certainly fits; we are all 'fearfully and wonderfully made' — from the child in the womb to those nearing the end of this life — and anyone society deems inconvenient."

40 Days For Life - Day 15
..."Kitchener also recounts the story of a baby saved during 40 Days for Life. “We’ve received direct confirmation that a baby’s life was saved as a result of our peaceful prayer vigil at the Freeport Hospital abortion facility,” reported the group.
Last Wednesday, a lady approached the prayer volunteers after parking her car behind the prayer zone. The participants were concerned she had come to complain about their witness. “When the lady got to our prayer volunteer,” organizers recounted, “she explained to him that thanks to our 40 Days For Life prayerful witness, her 19-year old daughter changed her mind about having an abortion.”
The turnaround happened during Kitchener’s first 40 Days campaign in the fall of 2009. “The baby has already been born and is thriving somewhere in our community, bringing joy to its mother ... and grandmother!” participants said.
The 40 Days campaign is being hosted in 10 Canadian cities, as well as hundreds of cities in the U.S. and around the world..."

Syracuse, New York
A record crowd of 120 turned out for the kickoff of the fifth 40 Days for Life campaign in Syracuse.
Coordinators noted that the Planned Parenthood facility in Syracuse was the first freestanding abortion center in the United States.
It opened for business on July 2, 1970 — 40 years ago (abortion was legal in New York prior to the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling).
“We are thrilled to be here and do God’s work and bring His light and love and mercy to this darkest corner of our city,” Jeannie, one of the coordinators, told the crowd.

Day 3 Devotional
.
On Wednesday, the first day of the 40 Days for Life campaign, a young woman pulled into the abortion center’s parking lot. “She and a friend sat in their car for over 20 minutes,” wrote James. “The young mother kept looking over at the pro-lifers praying.”
She would look at the sign with a picture of a baby in the womb — and then cover her eyes.
"As time went on, she kept looking over at the people praying and she would look for a longer period of time,” James said. “Finally she rolled down her window and listened to a counselor speak to her of the love and help available."
On a typical Wednesday, this facility in Rockford performs 15 abortions. “Today, because of the power of prayer,” said James, “that number was cut in half to seven.”

Missoula,MO:
...Kuennen said Wednesday that she appreciates how low-key and peaceful the vigil began, because the clinic is occasionally picketed by very vocal abortion opponents carrying pictures of aborted fetuses.Shane Higoe,Sydney:
"I understand and appreciate that their values are different," she said. "It makes sense that they need to express that. I'm not always thrilled with the way it gets expressed."
Rotering said the Bible commands Christians to be peaceful.
"That's God's way," she said. "He's in charge."
Prayer will ultimately defeat the practice of abortion across the world, Rotering said.
"You want power? You start praying," she said. "You'll see power."
Kuennen knows the prayers will be uttered for the unborn and for the clinic's clients. She hopes a few are reserved for one more group.
"Hopefully," she said, "all of us, too."
The first Sydney 40 Days Lenten campaign last year most significantly captured the hearts of many young adults and it was quite remarkable that at any one time you could turn up at 40 Days corner in Surry Hills and see fresh faced 20 something’s praying and giving witness to the sanctity of life.
You could see the objectionable glares from people were often muted as their eyes caste around the vigilers observing that there were a number of young women not standing for the false pernicious slogan of ‘choice’ but giving heartfelt witness to life for the unborn and a genuine womanhood based on Christ and His Church.

Until Abortion Ends - How About You?
I've decided to join Bryan Kemper and Jason Jones in the campaign to perpetually sacrifice 'something' until abortion ends. I've decided to give up ice cream. Totally. We are very big consumers of ice cream in this household, so I'm sure I will have many, many opportunities to offer up prayers for the unborn.
How about you? Can you sacrifice something Until Abortion Ends ?

"Can I Live?"
(CCFON)
American celebrity, Nick Cannon is best known for his starring role in the film Drumline as well as his marriage to Mariah Carey. In Cannon’s music video for his single, Can I Live, he steers clear from common rap themes like money and fame and focuses on another issue, life. Can I Live is about the beginning of Nick Cannon’s life, the very beginning. In the video, Cannon portrays a ghost urging his mother not to go through with her planned abortion, reciting lines like, “300 dollars that’s the price of living…what?” and “You can tell he’s a star from the ultrasound.” The end of the video is the most compelling. Cannon appears with his very own mother, hugging her and reaffirming that the decision she made to support life, was the right one.

"Not In My Name..."

"For years and years the government has funded abortions, supplied abortions, paid for them (since I started paying taxes) with my money. It wasn’t done in my name. And frankly, I don’t love the blood on my hands. In fact, this group was started so that women like you wouldn’t be the only ones to stand up at the time of the Morgentaler anniversary, to make a claim of “victory for women’s rights” as if you spoke for women everywhere. See, here’s the problem. You and your friends have been purportedly “representing” me in politics and the public square for quite some time. But you never did. It was frustrating, yes..."
If you have found yourself frustrated by the radical culture of death presuming to 'represent' you, in the name of 'all women', check out ProWomanProLife , and add your name to the "Not In My Name" list...

U of Calgary : Letter from Alumnus
Dr. Warren Veale,
Interim Pres. U of Calgary
Dear Sir;
The fact is that Albertans are overwhelmingly in favour of protection
under law of unborn children from any form of violence against them,
whether attacked by knife-wielding boyfriend of the mother, or the
forceps and cutting devices of an abortionist. Lack of protection for
the child in Canadian law, however, should not deter a discussion of
law, with life or death implications, especially at institutions of
higher learning. Surveys favouring protection of unborn children range
from 75% to over 90% in Alberta, depending how the question was asked.
Albertans understand that the unborn children have a high probability of
suffering death from lack of law in Canada and they want the situation
changed.
As a former unborn child, if the present state of lawlessness was
present when your mother carried you in her womb, perhaps you'd have
been the victim. Instead, you can thank her on Mothers Day. I urge
you, on behalf of Albertans and unborn children everywhere in Canada, to
put your best instincts into action to stand up to the radical leftists
who protest that conversations may not be held on U of C campus on this
subject. Take the steps to establish a civilized dialogue at U of
Calgary about the rights of children to be kept alive until their birth.
The young people you have allowed to be persecuted by Student Union,
radical leftist university staffers and professors, should be treated
with respect, if not with awe, for their courage in defense of voiceless
victims. Two hundred thousand per year is the rate at which innocent
babies die in Canada. Are they dying for population control, to please
United Nations? Canada needs more people, not less! Is their cause of
death an ideology that has no right or wrong? Since when does Canada
not have a conscience? What is the university doing to discover why
babies have to die, when over 100,000 couples per year apply to adopt a
child? What a crime, that no Canadian babies are available for adoption
because of no protection in law during gestation.
Surely, expelling your best and brightest students does not add to a
solution for the brutality of abortion. I say best and brightest
because they are the ones who see the issue clearly and have the ability
to express for the unborn, in a thought-provoking and articulate manner,
that God-given rights are violated and lives are unnecessarily taken,
when institutions like yours become blind and heartless.
Kindest regards,
James Edward Mullen
