Tea Party Tutorial For CNN Reporters...and others
Freedom depends on the ability to be INDEPENDENT. Governments that seek control of 'worker drone' citizens, reduce freedom by increasing taxation, and rendering more and more of the population DEPENDENT on government 'largesse'.
The (media supported) attitude towards the 'Tea Party' movement is indicative of a government that has scorn for workers, feels entitled to their incomes and demands their unquestioning fealty. A government of one hundred days that already has this 'attitude', totally unearned, shows unspeakable audacity. The kind of audacity that shows up infamously throughout history . The audacity of totalitarian elites who 'govern' to control.
Control over income spending.
Control over life and death.
Control over speech and thought.
Stand up for yourself. Every day, stand up. Every day talk back to the paid commercials calling themselves 'news'.(Better yet, find some actual news.) Every day make up your own mind. Question every authoritative decree that comes down the chute - from your kid's school, to your local government. Stand up. Go with that patriotic feeling churning in your gut. Put yourself on the list of people who make their own decisions about education, religion, belief, and family. (You know, that list of potential problems for totalitarian governments). Stand up. Speak up. Raise up a large patriotic American family. Teach them the virtues of true freedom.
Be Independent. Be American!
(This rant might seem strange coming from an ex-pat Canadian, but I'm really counting on Americans to BE AMERICAN. There are far too many polite sheep in the world already.)

The Abortion Bailout Package:
$1 BILLION dollars in taxpayer funding for International Abortion Groups

$65 million for the UNFPA, an international aid organization connected to coercive abortion as part of China’s coercive one-child policy
Repeal the Hyde Amendment – Vastly expanding federal taxpayer funding for abortions
Include Abortion coverage in any taxpayer-subsidized national health care program
Expand taxpayer-funded abortions on military bases
Expand taxpayer-funded abortions through the Peace Corps program
Expand taxpayer-funded abortions for federal prisoners
Send a letter to your Senators today demanding that they keep your tax dollars out of the pockets of abortion providers.

Gov't Sponsored Slavery
Kathy Shaidle:
"With the election of Barack Hussein Obama, America can finally be said to have thrown off the evil legacy of slavery -- the nation's so-called "original sin."
The bad news is: America has embraced a new form of slavery.
Not only doesn't it know this, it just doesn't seem to care...."

Obama Would Fund Abortions With Tax Dollars
(LIFENEWS):
I'd like Doug Kmiec to explain how this DECREASES abortions. Or taxes!!
.
A leading pro-life group has uncovered a questionnaire the campaign of Barack Obama filed with a pro-abortion web site. The survey makes it clear that Obama's national health care plan would include abortions and that they would likely be funded at taxpayer expense.
The Obama campaign responded to a question about health care from the pro-abortion RH Reality Check web site.
"Senator Obama believes that reproductive health care is basic health care," the campaign said, using the phrase that abortion advocates employ to refer to abortion.
"His health care plan will create a new public plan, which will provide coverage of all essential medical services. Reproductive health care is an essential service," the Obama campaign added.
The Obama camp also made it clear that any private insurance companies wanting to participate would also be required to provide abortion coverage.
"And private insurers that want to participate will have to treat reproductive care in the same way," the Obama campaign responded...
I'd like Doug Kmiec to explain how this DECREASES abortions. Or taxes!!

Can The Republic Withstand A "Liberal Supermajority"?
Wall Street Journal:
(medicare for all)
(business climate)
(taxes)
(free speech and voting rights)
If the current polls hold, Barack Obama will win the White House on November 4 and Democrats will consolidate their Congressional majorities, probably with a filibuster-proof Senate or very close to it. Without the ability to filibuster, the Senate would become like the House, able to pass whatever the majority wants.
Though we doubt most Americans realize it, this would be one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in U.S. history. Liberals would dominate the entire government in a way they haven't since 1965, or 1933. In other words, the election would mark the restoration of the activist government that fell out of public favor in the 1970s. If the U.S. really is entering a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy, Americans at least ought to understand what they will be getting, especially with the media cheering it all on...
(medicare for all)
..The commitments would start slow, so as not to cause immediate alarm. But as U.S. health-care spending flowed into the default government options, taxes would have to rise or services would be rationed, or both. Single payer is the inevitable next step, as Mr. Obama has already said is his ultimate ideal..
(business climate)
..The danger is that Democrats could cause the economic downturn to last longer than it otherwise will by enacting regulatory overkill like Sarbanes-Oxley. Something more punitive is likely as well, for instance a windfall profits tax on oil, and maybe other industries..
(taxes)
..Taxes will rise substantially, the only question being how high. Mr. Obama would raise the top income, dividend and capital-gains rates for "the rich," substantially increasing the cost of new investment in the U.S. More radically, he wants to lift or eliminate the cap on income subject to payroll taxes that fund Medicare and Social Security. This would convert what was meant to be a pension insurance program into an overt income redistribution program. It would also impose a probably unrepealable increase in marginal tax rates, and a permanent shift upward in the federal tax share of GDP...
(free speech and voting rights)
..A liberal supermajority would move quickly to impose procedural advantages that could cement Democratic rule for years to come. One early effort would be national, election-day voter registration. This is a long-time goal of Acorn and others on the "community organizer" left and would make it far easier to stack the voter rolls. The District of Columbia would also get votes in Congress -- Democratic, naturally.
Felons may also get the right to vote nationwide, while the Fairness Doctrine is likely to be reimposed either by Congress or the Obama FCC. A major goal of the supermajority left would be to shut down talk radio and other voices of political opposition...
...It's always possible that events -- such as a recession -- would temper some of these ambitions. Republicans also feared the worst in 1993 when Democrats ran the entire government, but it didn't turn out that way. On the other hand, Bob Dole then had 43 GOP Senators to support a filibuster, and the entire Democratic Party has since moved sharply to the left. Mr. Obama's agenda is far more liberal than Bill Clinton's was in 1992, and the Southern Democrats who killed Al Gore's BTU tax and modified liberal ambitions are long gone.
In both 1933 and 1965, liberal majorities imposed vast expansions of government that have never been repealed, and the current financial panic may give today's left another pretext to return to those heydays of welfare-state liberalism. Americans voting for "change" should know they may get far more than they ever imagined.

CBC - Too Little Too Late ?

Well, here is John Cruikshank of the CBC admitting what some of us have been saying for a while - the CBC is a political tool for the left with no 'fair and balanced' intentions, in other words an unabashed use of public dollars for partisan gain.
Apparantly they are about to improve... will that save the corporation that has sucked the intellectual life out of Canada, or is it TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE!?
CBC PUBLISHER ADMITS BIAS,PROMISES REFORM:
"..Vince Carlin, the CBC ombudsman, has now issued his assessment of the Mallick column. He doesn’t fault her for riling readers by either the caustic nature of her tone or the polarizing nature of her opinion.
But he objects that many of her most savage assertions lack a basis in fact. And he is certainly correct.
Mallick’s column is a classic piece of political invective. It is viciously personal, grossly hyperbolic and intensely partisan.
And because it is all those things, this column should not have appeared on the CBCNews.ca site...
...Ombudsman Carlin makes another significant observation in his response to complainants: when it does choose to print opinion, CBCNews.ca displays a very narrow range on its pages.
In this, Carlin is also correct.
This, too, is being immediately addressed. CBCNews.ca will soon expand the diversity of voices and opinions and be home to a diverse group of writers with many perspectives. In this, we will better reflect the depth and texture of this country.
We erred in our editorial judgment. You told us in no uncertain terms. And we have learned from it."
.................................................................
Of course, Mr. Cruikshank has admitted on CBC's behalf, as narrow a scope of 'crimes' as the Ombudsman's report allowed. What is needed is a sweeping reform from top to bottom. Start with television please.(I cannot abide having Peter Mansbridge 'tell me what's important about the news'.)

Crappy Broadcasting Corp. (owned by us )
Micahel Coren delivers (when others couldn't if their credibility depended on it..):
"..I assume that before long Bollinger Bolshevik journalists will simply be throwing bricks through people's windows if they disagree with them. So much easier than writing anything down or picking up a microphone.
There is something exciting and vibrant about the meaty exchange of ideas and ideals, and from such a clash of ideologies Canada becomes a more interesting place. Instead we have dreary and predictable abuse from Enright, Mallick and their dowdy friends.
Time and change are against the corporation. Simply put, the CBC as it stands now has no future. For the time being people who somehow think they're clever apparently will argue with you by the equivalent of calling you smelly or putting a "kick me" sign on your back. How sad. And these dunderheads say Americans are dumb!.."
