Community Organizers - Spain

An impressive show of solidarity and independence had over one million Spaniards in the street, protesting the government's proposal to liberalize abortion laws. Although the EU/UN does not have an official mandate of abortion advocacy, both organizations have pressured member states, especially developing nations, to change legislation in favour of open access to abortion.

WW11 Redux : Where IS This Going?

Those European megalomaniacs just can't stand independent thinker Vaclav Klaus. With Ireland's second-vote cave-in, they're feeling their oats.

France and Germany want to stifle the freedom of the Czech people's choice....so what's new!?

'Culture Of Death' Wins Nobel Peace Prize - Yeah World!

I stopped putting much stock in the Nobel Peace Prize after it was awarded to Yasser Arafat. Today's award is in the same category of scandalous.
I realize that what might seem scandalous to me, would not necessarily scandalize a Norwegian, but there it is.
A man who was nominated before he could do anything (11 days into his presidency) and subsequently made move after move to solidify the grip of the Culture of Death on the peoples of the United States, has been awarded an international prize for 'peace'.

Not really surprising, considering the EU's and the UN's persistent push and bullying to accomplish world wide acceptance of homosexuality and abortion as 'good'.

Yeah World!

"The EU Loves Control..."

Coir is a grassroots volunteer organization campaigning to educate people about the power lust of the EU and the risk to democracy and Irish independence in a vote for the Lisbon Treaty. You may recall that the Irish already, recently, voted against this treaty. Apparently the 'new age' democracy is little more than 'vote until you get it right'!

Of special note on Coir's webpage is an article explaining the threat to Irish independence regarding abortion.

Americans know the power of grassroots movements, and everyone knows how the Irish love a cuppa...

GO SPAIN!

Many thousands protest the governments proposal to allow girls as young as 16 to acquire abortions without parental permission

Spero News:

...Thousands of protesterss made themselves heard in some 80 cities throughout Spain, while in Madrid they filled the streets around the Congress. “This is only the beginning,” said Arsuaga of Hazteoir.org. A manifesto read at the Madrid rally proclaimed that the movement of over 100 civic groups is demanding “a true plan of support for pregnant women so that they can give birth to their children and as a last resort, if necessary, give them up for adoption.”...

As the US strives to make itself conform to the EU/UN philosophy of 'reduce the poor by killing their children', Europeans are beginning to fight back. All is not as 'homogenous' as the 'Culture of Death' media would have us believe. Afterall, we ARE human!

Great new ideas from the EU and the UK

EuropeNews:
'Their plans for the intercept modernisation programme were completely unworkable to begin with - and are becoming more so with every addition they suggest.

'The idea of tracking calls, texts and emails made by people in the country is unspeakably offensive.'

The social networking websites have attracted the interest of security chiefs because they are not covered by rules drafted in Brussels after the 2005 London bombings to track terrorist activity in emails and on the internet.

Social networking companies - also including Bebo - would be required to retain details of every contact a user corresponds with via their websites.

Facebook has 17million UK members while Bebo and MySpace have 10million each.

Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesman Tom Brake blasted the combined EU and UK proposals as a 'snooper's charter' - and pointed to the Government's track record of losing sensitive digital data...

Stephen Lewis - UN Abortion Czar - Proud Canadian

If he hadn't already received an 'Order of Canada' , surely all the great work he's done promoting an increase of abortions worldwide, would qualify him!

LifeSiteNews:

....Lewis, the former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa and a former Deputy Director of UNICEF, has long been a vociferous supporter of the creation of a “fully-resourced” women’s agency. Such an agency could change the UN and end the “suffocating patriarchy” with a new “sensibility of collaboration.” Lewis continued that this, “would not only help women but rescue the UN from some of its worst behavior.”

One audience member questioned the necessity of a new billion dollar agency. There are already several UN bodies which focus on issues affecting women, including the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW), Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues (OSAGI) and the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (INSTRAW). Lewis said, “Rendering little agencies is not enough. There is not enough staff, not enough resources and no mandate.” He viewed the proposed agency as the UN’s “one last chance” to advocate for women multilaterally the way UNICEF does for children with a staff and budget to match.

It was during Mr. Lewis’ stint at UNICEF that the Vatican decided to withdraw its annual symbolic donation because of mounting evidence that the agency was promoting abortion. Critics fear that a new agency would not advocate for women but for certain ideologies espoused by those in charge, particularly for a universal right to abortion....

Lewis was speaking at a forum hosted by the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs . I wonder who's 'ethics' those might be?
The past several years, under the leadership of radical nihilists like Lewis, the UN has been pressuring all countries to provide open access to abortion, and to accept homosexuality as a normal lifestyle. The EU and Canada are far, far down this road already. They are especially anxious for the less developed and the under-developed (poor) countries to drastically limit their populations, as their own populations continue to dwindle and age.

Wake Up Canadians. Stop seeing as 'heroes' the very people who have despoiled the innocence of your young country. Stop sending your kids out to gather funds that support evil abroad. Stop keeping yourself so busy with leisure sports and artsy endeavors that you can pretend everything is great. Worthwhile activities no doubt, for the rich and comfortable - but you should care that you are supporting the ending of life for people in other countries.

You
should care.

Meanwhile, In The EU

Czech Pres. Vaclav Klaus makes a stand for democracy:

...The present decision making system of the European Union is different from a classic parliamentary democracy, tested and proven by history. In a normal parliamentary system, part of the MPs support the government and part support the opposition. In the European parliament, this arrangement has been missing. Here, only one single alternative is being promoted and those who dare thinking about a different option are labelled as enemies of the European integration. Not so long ago, in our part of Europe we lived in a political system that permitted no alternatives and therefore also no parliamentary opposition. It was through this experience that we learned the bitter lesson that with no opposition, there is no freedom. That is why political alternatives must exist.

And not only that. The relationship between a citizen of one or another member state and a representative of the Union is not a standard relationship between a voter and a politician, representing him or her. There is also a great distance (not only in a geographical sense) between citizens and Union representatives, which is much greater than it is the case inside the member countries. This distance is often described as the democratic deficit, the loss of democratic accountability, the decision making of the unelected – but selected – ones, as bureaucratisation of decision making etc. The proposals to change the current state of affairs – included in the rejected European Constitution or in the not much different Lisbon Treaty – would make this defect even worse.

Since there is no European demos – and no European nation – this defect cannot be solved by strengthening the role of the European parliament either....

Not too many clear heads in the European Parliament. No wonder Klaus is persistently vilified and disrespected in the Parliament. He makes sense.

And What of Democracy?

This week my husband and I attended one of several public 'townhall' forums being held to discuss the draft constitution and bill of rights for the Cayman Islands. This is the draft , after several years of starts and stops, that the British gov't has decided to sign off on. (The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory.)

The CI Human Rights Committee has some problems with the draft bill of rights, the major one being that there is not an open, unlimited non-discrimination provision. (This was presented by the HRC chair, as something 'taken away', when in fact the new constitution and bill of rights goes much farther than the 1972 edition to protect 'rights' of Caymanians from gov't abuse.)

The proposed non-discrimination provision reads:

"subject to subsections (3) (4) (5) and (6), government shall not treat any person in a discriminatory manner in respect of the rights under this Part of the Constitution."

The HRC objects to the 'bolded' phrase, and would like the provision to be unqualified. (Discriminatory is defined in the document as "affording different and unjustifiable treatment to different persons on any grounds such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, age, mental or physical disability, property, birth or other status.)

The forum was side-tracked by the usual (for Cayman) bogeyman of homophobia, in that the 'opposition' to the current draft, were concerned that the qualification included was in fact there solely for the purpose of protecting the Islands from being over-run by gay rights activists. For this they seemed to blame the churches, who had representaion equal to the HRC, on the negotiating team . (Something we'd never see in North America , I'm sure!) Although, the church representatives, and certainly many parishioners at the forum, have a fear and concern about this (who can blame them, considering the ridiculous things happening in Canada and Europe!), the greater concern is much more serious.

The HRC, in supporting their contention that the non-discriminatory provision should be unqualified, had several supporters
with moving personal stories of hardship that could have been alleviated by the gov't. One was a blind woman who had trouble renting because of her guide dog. Of course, since the CI proposed bill of rights is vertical, and applies only to the gov't treatment of its people, she was not a great example. Her case would only be relevant if she was denied an apartment in a gov't building. The gov't representative pointed this out, and suggested that local legislation was the answer to this kind of difficulty.

He was right. Local legislation is how a citizen has the ability to address needs in a democracy. The interesting thing was the HRC chair's response to that. She suggested that Caymanians would be better served by depending on unelected judges to sort out what the gov't owes them.

See the problem? Very few, of even the draft bill supporters, saw the problem.

The 'independent body' designated as a support for human (not just Caymanian) rights, the HRC, proposes to reduce the citizens input by handing over legislative responsibilities to the courts.

(How's that working out for you, CANADA??)

Is the HRC suggesting 'less power to the people' because the Caymanian people can't be trusted ?

And why does the Cayman media do nothing to 'enlighten' their readers? Do they also not trust the Caymanian voters?

Do the HRC, their supporters, and the media have a 'secret agenda'....?

...........................

Why is it that people who have never known any other life than that under a democratic system , have no idea when their democratic 'rights' are being siphoned off. Why don't they care?

I call it 'stealth socialism'.

I'm hoping that our haven of personal freedom, the Cayman Islands, doesn't have to suffer the degradation and repression of their society the way the once proud Canadian people have. And I say that as a Canadian.

EU and Human Rights

Here's one for the history books. The EU Human Rights Court has decided that Portugal contravened 'article 10' by refusing to allow the 'floating abortuary' to enter its harbours in 2004 - when abortion was illegal in Portugal.

... Abortionist and foundress of the "Women on Waves" project, Rebecca Gomperts, said she is delighted with the finding. "We shall use the judgment for new campaigns outside Europe," she said.

In 2004, the abortion ship was denied access to Portuguese ports by politicians and the courts. Portuguese officials ordered two naval vessels out to ensure that it would not enter Portugal's sovereign waters. At that time, Portugal had some of the strongest legal protections for unborn children anywhere in Europe.

The Court unanimously decided that there was a breach of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The court ruled that in seeking to prevent disorder and protect public health, the Portuguese authorities could have resorted to other means that were less restrictive of "Women on Waves'' human rights. Article 10 is the section of the Convention dealing with "expression"...

How did the group instituted after WWII to prevent further human rights calamities become so separated from reality? A floating baby killing business has human rights? Talk about depreciating the value of a human right!

Can't wait to see whose sovereignty "Women on Waves - Baby Assassins" attacks next!! (Any bets as to who this group gets big funding from??)

Coming Soon To A Gov't Repressing You

Brussels Journal:
Communism seems on the verge of conquering Germany. Individual former Marxist-Leninists already occupy high positions in the Federal Republic of Germany. Now it looks increasingly likely that the Left Party, the successor of the East German Communist Party, might be in government in the foreseeable future.

Dieter Althaus, 50, is the Christian-Democrat prime minister of the German state of Thuringia. Before 1990, when Thuringia was part of Communist East Germany, Herr Althaus was a teacher at a Thuringian high school. Last October the German media published a letter which Herr Althaus sent to the Communist leadership on 9 November 1989, ironically the very day when the Berlin Wall fell, in the evenings. In the letter he advocated that in preparation of their “youth consecration”, a secular coming of age ceremony for 14-year olds in Communist East Germany, the children should be indoctrinated more strictly with Marxist-Leninist ideology. His ardent Marxist-Leninist fervor did not prevent Herr Althaus from becoming the Christian-Democrat leader of his state....(much more)

Anybody wondering why homeschooling is illegal? Read 'Animal Farm' lately? Have any knowledge of recent German history? WAKE UP PEOPLE! (I know, everybody has to suffer first - its human nature to be stupid, and THEN cry.)

..and I'm not just talking to the Europeans. The machinations supporting 'global government' are coming from the same place. The 'post democracy' place, where personal freedom is trumped by 'papa gov't', and its spreading like cholera. (They all drink the same water...)

The Inside Scoop

A view of the European Leaders as they truly are - tyrannical.

Well, if it was said behind closed doors it doesn't count, right? And shouldn't those newcomers regard the EU flag as superior to their own? Shouldn't they?

Hang in there Ireland.

Czechs Stand Up

The 'Stand Up Country of the Day' award goes to the Czech Republic, for standing up to EU bullies:

"The Czech Republic posed a new danger on Friday to the European Union's troubled reform treaty, threatening to block a joint call at an EU summit for continued ratification despite Ireland's 'No' vote, diplomats said."

...and the walls came a tumblin' down!

EU Rhymes With "SCREW YOU"

No surprises here. Plans are already being made to 'do-over' the Irish referendum, amidst whining from political leaders about the 'ungrateful Irish' (sour milk?) and what appears to be a general lack of enthusiasm amongst the general public across Europe for any increase in EU powers.

LifesiteNews reports:

Many long time observers of the ways and wiles of the European Union, however, predicted that a rejection by the Irish would be far from the end of the Lisbon Treaty. As wit and commentator Gerald Warner wrote for his Daily Telegraph weblog, "We have been here before."

"In 2001 the Irish electorate rejected a similar proposal, the Treaty of Nice, by 54 percent to 46 percent. A second referendum was quickly held and provided the desired outcome, a yes to Nice by 63 percent to 37 percent.

'Silly people!' Warner writes, 'It was the wrong answer. So the following year, like a recalcitrant schoolboy being dragged by the ear back to his desk to do his unsatisfactory homework over again, the Irish electorate was made to repeat the exercise.'

'In fact the Eurofascists will press on regardless, despite rejection now by France, the Netherlands and Ireland. The Protocols of the Elders of Brussels will be enforced.'"

EU:America Overrun With Small Invaders

Creative Minority Report:

"A sociologist from Sweden postulated that America had been taken over by a race of small undisciplined savages and they seem to have enslaved the big people with some mind-twisting technology. “When these small people drool there’s typically an adult jumping up and wiping their chin. And I hate to say it but when these very small people defecate, the big people change them within minutes and are even sometimes forced to joke about it. And most horribly, some of the little people seem to drink the life right out of the American female’s breast.

One economist marveled at how the economy of America was still so strong while supporting an invasion of little tyrants..."

How The Irish Saved Civilization - AGAIN!

LISBON TREATY REJECTED! HURRAH for democracy and freedom!

Naturally, since the EU requires all 27 signatures on the Lisbon Treaty - Irish rejection has scuttled it- the 'leadership' of the EU is forging ahead anyway.'We regret the Irish decision but...'

(BTW, Why did only the Irish get the vote?)

No soul-searching. No wondering why the only democratic result is a NO. Just keep on going. Maybe they can convince the Irish gov't to 'overule' the referendum. Maybe they can convince the Irish to hold referenda successively until they get the result they want. Maybe they can 'dump' Ireland, or impose sanctions.

I'm sure there's no end to totalitarian suggestions being bandied about.

But just remember...it was the Irish that understood what had to be done, and did it!

That would Be A Shame...(Not)

The 'Telegraph' speculates on results from the Irish referendum:

"If Ireland rejects Lisbon on the basis of what might be termed parochial reasons – say, abortion or farming subsidies – and the vote is close, the country could be given opt-outs that would salvage the treaty.
But if it votes No by a substantial margin, and the reasons for doing so are varied, it will be impossible to resuscitate the fatally wounded treaty.
The EU will be faced with the prospect of starting all over again with a new document several years hence, or trying to bring in changes one by one."
