REAL MAN : Canadian MP Brad Trost

Representing 'life'in the Canadian parliament happens rarely, especially since the Conservative PM, Stephen Harper, has stated that it's not in his 'area of interest'. In a very un-'PC' manner, Conservative MP Brad Trost, is circulating a petition to stop all Canadian gov't funding of Planned Parenthood International.

LifeSiteNews:

...In addition to IPPF's abortion advocacy, the petition cites the fact that the organization "does not support physicians' freedom to practice according to their conscience and/or religious beliefs regarding abortion referral."

According to IPPF's 'Charter on Sexual and Reproductive Rights', physicians may only refuse to offer contraceptive and abortion 'services' "if they can refer the client to health professionals willing to provide the service immediately" (5.3). "No such right exists in emergency cases where lives are at risk," they add.

IPPF took in $119 million in 2008, with almost 80% coming from government grants. In the midst of a financial crisis, $23 million of that money went towards staffing, with over 3 dozen people given six figure incomes that topped out at $480,000.

CIDA would seem to have become a dedicated supporter of organizations that advocate de-population and actively work towards global abortion access, giving away millions of Canadian tax money. In 2007, for example, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation reported that, in addition to the money pledged to IPPF, in 2006/2007 CIDA had given $44,050,000 to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as well as $18 million to UNICEF.

While UNFPA claims that they do not promote abortion, they are an ardent supporter of abortion advocacy groups, such as IPPF, which reported in 2008 that it had received $1 million from the fund that year. In September, the UNFPA's leader, Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, called for a budget of $23 billion to be able to fund abortions worldwide.

In Trost's opinion, the government has continued funding IPPF because of "inertia." "The bureaucracy's done it before and no one wants to rock the boat," he explained. "So at the end of the day, don't make any waves. ... I'm encouraging people to let their voice be spoken so that the unelected government, i.e. the bureaucrats in CIDA who support Planned Parenthood, don't get to dictate where people's tax dollars go."...

A Young Man With A Mission

A little 'star power' helps out the 40 Days For Life efforts in California:

“Eduardo Verastegui arrived a little after 8 am and did not stop counseling, praying and encouraging women to choose life for their babies — with love, tenderness, humility and compassion — until a little after noon,” John Anthony said. “God is good — five babies were saved that morning!”

But that isn’t the end of the story. John Anthony said it wasn’t just abortion-minded mothers that caught Eduardo’s attention. “The day had a dramatic ending when eight nurses from the clinic came outside to meet Eduardo!” He spoke with the nurses and gave them copies of his new Spanish language pro-life video, “Dura Realidad.”

“Please pray for these precious turnarounds,” John Anthony asked, “and for the conversion of all clinic workers and for Eduardo — what a courageous witness and backer of courageous words with action!”

Here’s a photo of Eduardo at that 40 Days for Life outside the abortion center on Saturday morning:

REAL MAN - Actor Eduardo Verastequi

(LifeNews):

Eduardo Verástegui, the former Mexican singer and actor who starred in the hit move "Bella," has recorded a new video asking Hispanic voters in the United States to reject Barack Obama because of his pro-abortion views. Verástegui challenges Latino voters to make abortion issues the centerpiece of their voting decisions.

In the new video, conducted in Spanish, Verástegui, says Obama is out of step with the overwhelming majority of Hispanics who are pro-life.

“We need to put an end to abortion and political candidates play a very important role in this matter,” he says.

Verástegui tells viewers that Obama supports abortions throughout pregnancy, including late-term abortions, and has opposed a ban on partial-birth abortions.

Moreover, the actor says Obama “wants to finance abortions with the tax dollars you and I pay.”

The Bella star also talks about the votes Obama cast during his tenure in the Illinois legislature that would deprive newborn infants of medical care if they survive botched abortions.

He says Obama “voted on several occasions against a law to protect babies who survived an abortion and were born alive."

Verástegui describes the bill Obama said he would make his first signature as president, the Freedom of Choice Act, that makes legal all abortions throughout pregnancy and overturns every abortion limit in all 50 states.

“Obama is committed to removing all the pro-life laws that in many states currently offer protection to unborn babies and their mothers. Mr. Obama does not agree that the parents of a 13 year-old girl who is pregnant should be notified before she has an abortion,” he explains.

“Obama is more interested in maintaining the legality of abortion that in the well-being of the babies, children and families of this country. Let us unite and do something to defend life at every stage, from conception to natural death,” he adds.

During the video, Verástegui punctuates his comments with images of unborn children and pictures of babies who died in abortions.

He also condemns how abortion advocates frequently place their abortion businesses in Hispanic communities.

“Abortion is not only a lucrative industry; it is also used by people who are racist as a means to eliminate our people, since they consider us to be a threat to democracy in this country,” Verástegui says.

He complains that abortion is legal “because there are not enough men and women who raise their voice against abortion.”

REAL MAN - Mark Steyn

Mark Steyn Live on The Al and Mike Showtoday:

REAL President

Vaclav Klaus in the National Post:

"I do not, however, live in the past and do not see the future threats to free society coming from old-fashioned communist ideology. The name of the new danger will undoubtedly be different, but its substance will be very similar. There will be the same attractive, to a great extent pathetic and at first sight quasi-noble idea that transcends the individual in the name of something greater than the self, supplemented by enormous self-confidence on the side of those who stand behind it. Like their predecessors, they will be certain they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their ideas reality. In the past it was in the name of the masses (or of the proletariat), this time it is in the name of the planet."

Vaclav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic, presented his book, 'Blue Planet in Green Shackles', to the National Press Club in Washington this past Tuesday.

REAL TEACHER

A Principal in South Carolina resigned his job in a demonstration of personal integrity his students and teachers will not see often in their lives:

"'Allowing the formation of this club on our campus conflicts with my professional
beliefs and religious convictions,' wrote Walker in a letter to Lexington-Richland School District Five officials.

Walker also contended that the GSAC would conflict with the goals of the school’s abstinence education program.

'The formation of this club conflicts with my professional beliefs in that we do not have other clubs at Irmo High school based on sexual orientation, sexual preference, or sexual activity.'

'In fact our sex education curriculum is abstinence based. I feel the formation of a Gay/Straight Alliance Club at Irmo High school implies that students joining the club will have chosen to or will choose to engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex, opposite sex, or members of both sexes.'"

I wonder how the parents will respond. How will they discuss this in their home - because whether they realize it or not, whether they want the responsibility or not, they have the most influence on what their children will take away from this contact with a man of integrity.

Will they teach their children the value and meaning of truth? Any bets?

Funeral For the Unborn

On Sat. May 3, Bishop John Quinn held a funeral for 25 aborted babies, recovered from behind a dumpster. Fr. Frank Pavone writes:

"This is no ordinary funeral. There are still too many of our fellow citizens who don’t even acknowledge that the people who will be buried this Saturday are people at all. To mourn their deaths publicly, therefore, is not just to honor them, but to sound a wake-up call to our nation that we are living amidst the biggest holocaust of all time. That is why I have called upon my brother priests nationwide to bring to the attention of their congregations this weekend that children are being buried who were brutally, legally killed, and that the killing has to end."

Bishop Quinn happens to be our Bishop, in the Cayman Islands, as we are under the 'administration' of the Diocese of Detroit - and I can't express how grateful I am for this good shepherd.

REAL MAN - Peter Stoffer MP, NDP

Its true, I have a reason to admire (my Dad's) MP. He was the ONLY NDP or Bloc MP to vote in favour of Bill C-484, second reading.

In my books, this makes him a REAL MAN!

Thank-you letter from grateful constituent:

Peter Stoffer, MPSackville,
Eastern Shore Nova Scotia

Dear Mr. Stoffer,

I thank you and congratulate you for being there to vote in favour of Bill C-484, a reasonable and fair measure to protect unborn children whose mothers are under attack. I realize how difficult it must have been for you to support Bill C-484 in last weeks vote, with the NDP party policy to offer no protection at all for any unborn child, regardless of age or circumstance.

In gratitude, I'd like to offer you two bits of information you may find useful:

1. If you suffer criticism from your NDP, Bloc and Liberal colleagues for your support of Bill C-484, which seems likely, I offer you a reasonable response:

An Environics poll was conducted in October, 2007 to measure public reaction to Bill C-484. The survey began by telling the participants that in the past two years there have been three cases in Canada where pregnant women have been murdered. They were further told that currently in Canada, the Criminal Code does not recognize a fetus as a human being, so someone who injures or kills an unborn child during an attack on the mother cannot be charged with two crimes. When asked if they support or oppose legislation making it a separate crime to injure or kill a fetus during an attack on the mother, a large majority (72%) said they supported such legislation, 22% were opposed and 3% said it depends on the situation. When asked at what point in human development the law should protect human life, 30% said protection should begin from conception onward, 21% said protection should begin after three months of pregnancy and 11% said it should begin after six months.

2. In deciding whether or not you will support future bills protecting the unborn and respecting adults at the end of life, you should know that the Catholic Church has consistantly held that human life is sacred and unconditionally worthy of protection. Here's the point, Canada's Catholic population is about 45% of total and growing, while Protestants have dropped to 29%. Since NDP anti-life policies undermine that party with regard to Catholic voters, a pro-life voting record would help support your candidacy, all things being considered.

I thank you again for supporting Bill C-484, appreciating that you are one of the first NDP MPs to recognize that protection of human life is not only warranted, but reasonable and necessary for a healthy society.

Kindest regards,

Ed Mullen
Waverley, NS

OBAMA vs LIFE

Obama’s email statement today on the anniversary of Roe vs Wade:

"Thirty-five years after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, it’s never been more important to protect a woman’s right to choose. Last year, the Supreme Court decided by a vote of 5-4 to uphold the Federal Abortion Ban, and in doing so undermined an important principle of Roe v. Wade: that we must always protect women’s health. With one more vacancy on the Supreme Court, we could be looking at a majority hostile to a women’s fundamental right to choose for the first time since Roe v. Wade. The next president may be asked to nominate that Supreme Court justice. That is what is at stake in this election.
Throughout my career, I’ve been a consistent and strong supporter of reproductive justice, and have consistently had a 100% pro-choice rating with Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
When South Dakota passed a law banning all abortions in a direct effort to have Roe overruled, I was the only candidate for President to raise money to help the citizens of South Dakota repeal that law. When anti-choice protesters blocked the opening of an Illinois Planned Parenthood clinic in a community where affordable health care is in short supply, I was the only candidate for President who spoke out against it. And I will continue to defend this right by passing the Freedom of Choice Act as president. . . ."

Just in case any one is deluded about Obama's loyalties, they're not to LIFE. The largest killer of black children in the US is ABORTION, so apparantly it isn't the success of the African American community either. Apparantly, his loyalty is to women who wish to have the right to kill their children, should their existence become inconvenient. WHy? I mean really, why??
