Joe and Mercedes Nunes of Turlock also were there, carrying an icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe, pregnant with Jesus. "It's the grace that we bring," said Mercedes Nunes. "We're all the same family — those working in there and us out here. Some of us are suffering. We're here for our brothers and sisters who are suffering."
